Bantwal: Hurting religious sentiments - Police take journalist into custody

Daijiworld Media Network - Bantwal (SP)

Bantwal, Sep 8: Police personnel from the local station took into custody a journalist, Imthiaz Thumbay, into custody on Thursday September 7.

The police said that he was taken into custody in connection with a report he prepared about the search conducted by the police in the house of Kalandar, accused in Sharath Madiwala murder case, at Panolibail Neelya, Sajipamunnur on September 1 this year. The police say that the contents of the report were likely to hurt the religious sentiments of a particular community.

The police, it is gathered, stopped Imthiaz from Panemangaluru when he was moving in his motor bike and spoke to him. He was thereafter informed about the allegation he faces, and led him to the police station. Advocate for Imthiaz gave this information, adding that Imthiaz has been booked under section 153A and 505-2 of Indian Penal Code.

On the basis of instructions issued by the district superintendent of police, the police here had registered a complaint on September 2 about the said report which they deem to be offensive, and prepared first information report.

Why don't we live with peace and love why can't we respect each others religion? God is one for all..Whenever i walk or driving/riding across Temple/Church/Mosque I always feel gratified and never forget to pray at least for a second. dumb are the people who get inspired by the politicians inflammatory speech. everyone has different ideology but when it about religion everyone must respect each others GOD.

Congress govt.is responsible for what? Killing a innocent young man / arresting the accused / searching for the main accused / hiding or protecting the main accused by family members / throwing holy book themself and blaming the police / playing minority victim card ... if congress is responsible for the crime then who responsible the arresting the accused?

All this is happening due the Congi s. The likes of Ramanatha Rai are the ones who fuel such fire by siding only one community. So some communals assume that they are immune to law with leaders on their side.

Hello????? What does your comment mean. If someone is doing false reporting which could hurt communal harmony and the police nab him what is wrong in it? Did the congress govt. do the wrong thing by arresting someone who was responsible for spreading lies?

I have huge respect for your comments which u write and I don't agree with what u have posted.Pls note the issue is the about Holy Quran is been decreased or not. Police has arrested the culprit if he is. Police has clearly said that they have done filmed.Comon pls don't always blame.Be realistic. I have huge regret for Ashraf and Sharat Murder. We all know which u might not agree most of the cases in Dakshina Kannada district are drug related which are done mostly by Bajrang dhal, RSS and SDPI etc people and they are all inter related with these activities and when there is differences in their share they fight and later it becomes communal. We as people.from Dakshin a Kannada are friendly irrespective of religion. Many are having difficulties lead a basic life and most of our youngsters who are talented are moving to Bengaluru for a better life

Great! joke . Ur knowledge is limited. Now on wards please read news paper daily and properly. Don't be selective about the news. Drug related cases and only by bajarang dal activist ? I think you are selective towards reading news in news papers also. If you stick to some ideology, you read/spread news of only opposite ideology. Please do some home work before spreading fake news. Why can not u get the details from the Editor of news paper itself where u read only Bajarang Dal activists are drug peddlers.
