Sullia: Thieves steal idol of goddess, ornaments from Subrahmanya temple

Sullia, Sep 1: Thieves entered Goddess Marakatha Durgaparameshwari temple at Subrahmanya in the taluk on the night of Thursday August 31 and took away the idol of the goddess, ornaments and other valuables.

The thieves stole the ancient idol of the goddess, ornaments, and aureole of the goddess. Before committing the theft, the they thoroughly damaged the CCTV camera installed inside the temple.

As per an estimate, the worth of items stolen is over ten lac rupees.

Subrahmanya police visited the spot and undertook investigation. A case about the theft stands registered in Subrahmanya station.
