Madikeri: Video of indecent behaviour of Congress leader at I-Day programme goes viral

Daijiworld Media Network - Madikeri (SP)

Madikeri, Aug 19: A video involving chairman of Karnataka State Silk Marketing Board, T P Ramesh's indecent behaviour during his participation in the Independence Day programme with a woman MLC, has been widely publicized through social media sites like Facebook, WhatsApp etc. The video shows Ramesh extending his hand and touching the hand of Veena seated beside him at the programme, and Veena gently pushing his hand back.

The incident reportedly occurred at the district level lndependence Day programme hosted by the district administration in the fort area of the town.

This has drawn sharp reaction from BJP leaders in the district. Shanteyanda Ravi Kushalappa, district BJP general secretary, has demanded resignation of Ramesh for his obscene behaviour. He also asked Congress party to evict Ramesh from the party. He has termed the behaviour of Ramesh as an insult to Kodagu district and the entire womankind. "The behaviour shown by Ramesh, who is in a position of responsibility, does not behove of a respected leader. BJP will continue to fight on this issue till he resigns from his post," he stated.

Veena Achaiah said that she felt awkward when Ramesh touched her. She said that therefore, she pushed his hand back. T P Ramesh said that he treats Veena Achaiah as his sister and expressed regret if she had felt awkward because of him.

Probably he forgot that he is sitting on a stage .. Behind the stage we know that these are common things in a sex starved nation ..

With due respect to the women with whom he misbehaved. Its probably common in political circles to trade your body for some return favours ..I believe this is common even in every society in general ..99% of human activity is based on sexual instincts ,,very rarely is work done with a selfless service attitude

I think she is a of polite nature lady that's why she gives that smile and pushing his hand, not to make big issue in front of big crowd, Any other lady would have screamed and slapped in front of every one.

Hope people raise their voice/have zero-tolerance, against such shameless/indecent/vulgar behavior from such of their elected representatives (who are enjoying all privileges & an immoral lifestyle), who are being fattened from out of taxpayers' money.

The rot in our political system is indeed very deep. Yet, we should not be silent spectators and allow this nonsense to go on.

When Hallappa can be acquitted of no charges, despite DNA evidence as claimed by complainant, anything can be treated as no offense with politicians - isn't it?

Leaders from all party should be the role model for layman, some leaders do not have shame, they need to be condemned in public. However, in Karnataka sad part is opposition has to wait for a long to look for an opportunity to make an issue against ruling govt. how-much ever they try, they get only similar incidents to raise issues but cannot raise voice against corruption.
