Daijiworld Media Network – Karkala (RJP)

Karkala, Jul 21: Bajrang Dal activists assaulted two men who were transporting two buffaloes at Jarigekatte near Belman on Thursday, July 20.

Rajesh Mendonca and Sadhu Poojary were transporting the buffaloes in a vehicle. They were stopped at Jarigekatte by two Bajrang Dal activists. The duo thrashed the occupants of the vehicle for carrying buffaloes.

Sadhu Poojary managed to escape. But Rajesh Mendonca was severely assaulted and left on the road.

The police arrived at the spot after some time upon hearing the news and admitted Rajesh Mendonca to a hospital.

The suspects, Sandeep and Rajesh, are absconding.

Some people said that vehicle carrying buffaloes hit a car at Nitte and fled. The occupants of the car informed their friends in Jarigekatte and the Bajrang Dal activists stopped the victims and thrashed them.

The police have recorded a statement from Mendonca.

A case stands registered at Karkala Rural police station.

Police are useless. If police cant protect common citizen .... why do we even have them around. I suggest Police to be disbanded to save money and owning of guns to be legalized so that every man can defend himself.

Why should these people attack anyone and assault ,because they carry buffaloes? How can a farmer live withotu animals and further livlihood? Now that man is injured and in hospital, family will have lot of problems to face.WHo will pay hospital bills.?If they have doubt, first should be asked ,not assault.Goodagiri is really gone too far. They are become Rowdys.punish them when caught.why should they run when police come?If they are so much interested, could have faced police, instead of running.

Your suggestion to have a Yama temple is an appropriate one. Jaarigekatte is a junction of 3 roads and it will give a clear message to cattle transporters that Yama is waiting to meet them soon.

Vehicle transporting buffaloes hit a car ? Did the vehicle have wings (to be passing at such a speed with a couple of tons load atop) to have hit a car, or, was the car driver blind to have come and kissed the vehicle in front ? Any sane person will understand how much a made up story is this.

Regardless, now, after cow, are buffaloes new mothers ?? That it is suspicious to be transporting it ?? Wait-a-minute - wasn't Jaitly ji trumpeting at the top of his voice that cow-vigilantes will not be spared ? Does the terminology include buffalo-vigilantes too ?

I dont know why we Indians always think in terms of religion. One or two will create havoc and one religion is blamed by the other. As a result we will never live peacefully and whole years go blaming each other. We forget we all are one. Let us learn to respect each freedom and live up our constitutional rights friends please. Living for each others well being is greater than to worry what one eats. Stop blaming eachother and be human first.
