Mangaluru, Jul 11: Adding to the series of stabbing incidents in the district over the past several days, a youth was attacked by a group at Ullal here on Tuesday July 11. However, the incident is unrelated to the previous attacks and is said to have resulted out of road rage.

Austin Monteiro (27), son of Uliya resident Lawrence, was stabbed and has been admitted to hospital.

Austin is a tempo driver by profession.

Sources said that a group came in a Ford car and attacked him near Ullal junction, and fled from the spot.

Police sources said that as per preliminary investiagations, the accused in the car wanted to overtake the tempo. As they could not, they lost temper and stabbed him, sources said. It is also said that the issue was related to reversing of the tempo.

More details awaited.

Beard is the enemy. Mistaken identity. If the investigation proved the overtaking issue was reason for stabbing, certainly some one must have noted the vehicle number as well. Police should arrest the culprits and investigate why they were carrying knife with them. Looks like goons are on rampage in different groups. Finally, everyone will be a loser except the greedy politicians who enjoy the death of our young boys.

Why people are politicizing or watching the incident from inter communal aspect.
Nothing is mentioned who and why he was attacked. May be some personal reason. The mystry will unfold soon. And as to stabing such incidents used to happen even in the early days too but mostly as personal avenge or roup fights. Mostly under the influence alcohol.

First time the third fraction has been victimized between two warring communities. Members of this community generally stays withdrawn, not involving in protest nor retaliation. Most possibility is that the identity has been misplaced while attacking this man. Therefore, it would be best for the community to refrain from protest and maintain serenity despite being hurt.

Do not make it even harder for the administration to solve issues already existing.

    Mr. Kumar,

Showing courage is required at the border, where a pilgrimage center is hit by waiting opportunists. Here in Karnataka, we are all neighbors irrespective of what faith we follow. Our ancestors asked for a fistful of salt or a measure of rice from his/her neighbor to sustain in lean times, they did not kill each other over petty issues nor created petty issues.

    Wordly response for your comment
Non violence was the foundation on which the Indian independence movement was built. Gandhiji was the mastermind of this and we won against Britishers.

Religious / Spiritual response for your comment.
We have been taught to love those who prosecute us, it will change killers / trouble makers mindset. How many people they will kill ? Evil will always try its best to destroy the Righteous people (irrespective of religion) but people with good spirit knows what to do.
