Udupi: Kaup Congress protests union government's 'anti-people' policies

Udupi, July 10: “The Modi led government which asked people to open bank accounts in nationalized banks and promised to transfer Rs 5000 in them, has cheated by collecting Rs 28,000 crore deposited by people in the accounts”, said Chief Whip of Legislative Council, Ivan D' Souza.

He was addressing mass protest opposing the alleged anti-people policies of the union government, held by Kaup block Congress committee and Kaup block youth Congress at Kaup market on July 10.

Kaup MLA Vinay Kumar Sorake speaking on the occasion, said that the state government has implemented 100% assurances made in the election manifesto. “State government has waived Rs 8,162 crores worth loans by farmers. Has the central government provided any identifiable project to the state government in its three year's term? BJP should answer what are the achievements of Modi at the center,” he said.

Former MLA Gopala Bhandary, U R Sabhapathi, KPCC secretary M A Gafoor and district leader Amrith Shenoy also spoke on occasion.

Kaup municipal council president Saumya S, Zilla panchayat member Wilson Rodrigues, district leaders Sarasu D Bangera, Dr Deviprasad Shetty, Ashok Kodavooru, M P Moidinabba, Shashidhar Shetty, district president Vishwas Amin, former mandala chief Srikara Suvarna, fisheries development corporation director Deepak Kumar Ermal, Christian development corporation director Prashanth Jathanna, APMC member Navinchandra Suvarna, party Kaup block leader Vinay Ballal, Rajesh Rao Pangala, Y Sukumar, Melwin D' Souza, H Abdulla, Gulam Mohammed, Congress party supported different grama panchayat presidents and vice presidents, taluk panchayat , municipal council and grama panchayat members, former members, different local committee office bearers and party activists were present.

Kaup block congress president Navinchandra J Shetty welcomed and gave key note address. State youth congress secretary Abdul Aziz proposed vote of thanks. District Congress vice president Kaup Diwakar Shetty compered the programme.

    Wow,,, looks like people came to Santhe are assembled to listen to CONgress pudaris....after supplying (Cold ?) drinks....

    CONgress will win assembly elections in 2018...there are at least a dozen CONgress candidates in Kaup...half dozen you could see in the stage!!!...
