Mangaluru: BJP condemns assault on RSS worker, warns of protest

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru (EP)

Mangaluru, Jul 5: Sanjeeva Matandoor, BJP district president and Jitendra S Kottary, district BJP spokesperson on Wednesday July 5 strongly condemned the assault on RSS activist Sharath at BC Road on the night of Tuesday July 4.

"Sharath was not involved in any criminal activities and was sincerely engaged in RSS work. Therefore we cannot tolerate the assault on him. It is proved that the incident has occurred due to encouragement by district in-charge minister who had proceeded to take legal action against Sangh Parivar leaders," stated Kottary in a press note.

"Therefore, the district police department and district administration should start investigations immediately, arrest the real culprits and take legal action against them. Violent protests will be held in the district if law and order is not maintained," he said.

In a separate press note, Sanjeeva Matandoor stated, "Such incidents are occurring unabated in the district and the ruling Congress is responsible for it. There is no peace in the district. It has made people suspect that the interference of the Congress government in police investigations is giving rise to such crimes. I urge the police department to arrest the culprits, identify the forces behind the incident and take stringent action."
