Mangaluru: Rahim Uchil slams critics of Krishna Math Iftar, urges Muthalik to call off protest

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (JM)

Mangaluru, Jun 29: Former president of Karnataka Beary Sahitya Academy and general secretary of district BJP minority morcha, Rahim Uchil on Thursday June 29 urged Sri Rama Sene (SRS) chief Pramod Muthalik and SRS activists to drop the protest against Pejawar Sri Vishweshateertha Swamiji for hosting Iftar get-together for Muslims at Sri Krishna Math on the last day of Ramadan.

Addressing a press meet here, Rahim said that he has known Pejawar Swamiji from up close for the past twenty-odd years and has always been inspired by his way of living and his talk. He appreciated Pejawar Swamiji and said, "The reason for the respect and admiration I have towards Hindu culture is also Swamiji, who has been like a guru to me. He has always inspired me. He is not just a person who does puja but also a personality who involves himself in social activities like approaching the untouchables to get rid of the practice of untouchability, contructing houses for the poor, conducting peace conferences," he added.

Rahim Uchil, who had also been a participant in the Iftar Souharda Koota at Sri Krishna Math, further said that the Iftar was held in the dining hall of the Math where all people irrespective of religion and caste come and dine together, and not anywhere near the sanctum sanctorum of the temple. The Namaz was offered in a place even more farther from the sanctorum," he said.

Answering those who had criticised him for participating in the Iftar get-together, he said, "According to our (Muslim) tradition we cannot break our fast in a place where idols are kept as we do not believe in idol worship. So we did it outside the sanctorum and by no means we intended to hurt anyone's sentiments. We know the rules of the Math and also have reverence to both religion's traditions.

"When it was time for Azaan, the prayer call was given in a very suttle way without disturbing anyone in the neighborhood even though we had a microphone at hand. We respect the rules of the Math and hence we did not create any loud sound unlike the usual Azaan.

"If Muthalik is protesting despite knowing the reality, it gives rise to suspicions that there is some invisible hand that is leading Muthalik to such acts," he said.

"We went to the the Math for Iftar on the invitation of the Pejawar Swamiji and not because we did not have anything prepared at home. It was not the food that was served that mattered but the invitation from a person like Swamiji who I have great respect towards. That was the only reason that made me go there.

"Neither we nor the Math has any agendas behind this. The only message that is given out is living in harmony by respecting the religious practices of all. However, if we have hurt the sentiments of anyone by participating in this Iftar get-together, we apologize from the depth of our hearts," he said.

In a veiled dig at the Congress, particularly at its youth wing which has openly supported the Pejawar Swamiji, said that some people have been 'pretending to be on the side of Pejawar Swamiji for the sake of fame'. "Certain people have never cooperated with Pejawar Swamiji in any of his religious and traditional acivities. Self-proclaimed secular parties who are politically trying to oppose Swamiji without even knowing anything about him or the Math are the reason for the rift within the society," he alleged.

Khaleed Nandavar and Santhosh Kumar were also present.

    Rahim uchila is not leader of any muslims, no one muslim beleave what he is. so dont give any importance to rahim uchila, most of the muslim majority knows the nature and intention of rahim uchila. Beacause any leader should have atleast some good quality, but this man is not having any quality. so he himself should not show on media that he is representing any muslims.

    Today I saw a lengthy writeup thoughtfully drafted and crafted in FB justifying the iftar party offered by Swamiji. To read between the lines it highlights that Hindus are against iftar party which is not at all correct.Fact of the matter is that there is no opposition by devotees if offering iftar party but not in the temple premised where ever may.Let this party be continued in a grand manner next year too but nearby halls and not inside mutt complex.This is the hard truth.Namaz can be done in the said place.Udupi Srikrishna temple is one of the famous temple having devotees all over the world.Swamiji can not take such decisions single handedly.Deadly silence by Hindu groups is understood as they don't want to annoy Muslims for vote banking reasons.
    Hindus are secular by birth and this nature is inherited by our parents and not by any modern day politicians or Swamijis.There is no second thought on this count. It is better if the discussion is ended at the earliest looking for better understanding in future in the interest of all.
    Jai Hind.

    No matter who says what, with all these Senas, Dalas, Jaish, Lashkar, a civil war is going to erupt if these are not curbed now.
    See the meaning of these words

    SENA = Military
    DALA = Regiment
    JAISH = Army
    Lashkar = Militiaman

    Inn sabko panipat ke maidan me chod do ladne ke liye. Dekh te hain kaun bachta hain.

    Pejawar swamiji has done mistake by accepting Raheem Uchila ect as representatives of whole Muslim community.How can a favorite mediator of kalladka bhat that's Raheem uchila become the representatives of practicing Muslim community. Let us go through our own faith perfectly resulting best conduct and humbleness but not the drama of show off secularism. No practicing Muslim ever likes to offer namaz at the place where idol worships takes place with respect.prjawar swamiji may have best intention but wrong choice.If tomorrow any swamiji ask for Pooja or festivity in mosque then that will create more issue in Islam.We Muslims clearly expect whoever desires for communal harmony then let them first say no to sangh parivar.

    Namaz cannot be offered in any place of idol worship.Similarly mosque cannot be used for any worship other than Almighty Allah.Even dargah also islamically an act of bidah. Islam or any faith should have fix boundaries like a compound for land property. Hypocritical drama definitely not the need of the hour

    this kind of boundaries are recently started & the same boundaries are dividing the people. everyone says that their religion is good but they unable to find out the goodness of other religion. come out from religion & join hands with the development of India. we already having the experience of dividing the country in Kashmir. the main intention of the religion is how to live in this society & different religion shows the path in different way but the goal is same. but unfortunately we are unable to understand the religion instead we act as known the fact very well.

    BJP and all its rogue organizations can only thrive in violent atmosphere. No wonder their party symbol is lotus means it can thrive only in muck. In spite of promoting Hindu religion which means peace and enforcing Yoga which is a path to attain spiritual bliss these goons have no knowledge what all this means. They are just exploiting this for their own worldly gain by fooling people.

    We Hindus and Muslims are brothers and always will be. It's only the British that divided us. Babri/Ayodhya was done by those cunning British rulers as they are weak when we brothers stand united against them. If you want to protest anything that has been done that strengthens our bonds, do it. By that, such protests are only in favour of the evil British Empire that looted us and destroyed lives regardless of religion. No matter what, you can't hide the truth. You can't hide the sun from shining after darkness of the night. Still the sun will shine through with the moon above us. No one can ever break the bond of brotherhood we share between Hindus and Muslims, even Christians. Spread as much lies as you want, truth always wins.
