Bantwal: Provocative messages in social media - two complaints filed

Bantwal, Jun 21: The call given by Dakshina Kannada district superintendent of police (SP), Bhushan G Borase, asking people to file complaints about provocative messages being spread through social websites, has evoked some response. Two cases were filed in this connection in the town police station here on Tuesday June 20.

The SP had invited people to file complaints in above cases, when talking at a peace meet organized at Kalladka, citing that spreading of provocative messages is a crime.

One of these cases pertains to provocative message posted in social website by a person named Sujith Bangera. The other complaint is about another such message posted by Sameeha Salmi under 'Usman Fans Club'. Cases under section 505 (c) (1) were filed in the station, revealed the SP. He has also requested the sites to stop publishing provocative statements.
