Kundapur: VHP, BD protest, demand minister Ramanath Rai's arrest

Kundapur, Jun 19: "The Congress party which pushed people seeking justice behind the bars by imposing emergency 42 years ago is making an exit from the entire country. It has been misusing its power in the state since the last four years. Now, the act of minister, Ramanath Rai, who is in a position of responsibility, in pressurizing the superintendent of police to arrest Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat by framing him under some sections of law, is fit to be condemned strongly," said Subrahmanya Holla, chief of Vishwa Hindu Parishad's divisional executive.

He was addressing a protest rally that was organized by Vishwa Hindu parishad and Bajrang Dal near Shastri Circle here on Monday June 19 to condemn minister, Ramanath Rai's alleged act of bringing pressure on police department to arrest Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat.

"For the past four years, innocent activists of Hindu organizations are being murdered one by one. The government has not shown the commitment to pursue these cases and punish the guilty. It has been indirectly supporting communal violence, and protecting the culprits and pestering the honest persons. For getting votes in the coming election, it has been giving communal hue to an incident that was purely personal, with an eye on next election," he felt.

BJP leader, Rajesh Kaveri, in his address, said that president of district scheduled caste Morcha of the district, Dinesh Amtoor, had filed complaint about Rai's act of pressurizing the department to arrest Dr Prabhakar Bhat, leader of Hindu organizations. He demanded immediate dismissal of the minister from the cabinet for misusing power and also demanded Rai's arrest, failing which, he warned that strong measures of protest will be undertaken.

Vishwa Hindu Parishad leader, Arvind Koteshwar, observed that is but natural for frogs to croak during rainy season. "In our colloquial Kannada, we can say that 'Gonkra' variety of frog is croaking now. With the video bringing pressure on officers to act as per Rai's whims and fancies becoming public knowledge, the real colour of Karnataka government has come into the open," he stated.

Leaders of organizations like Surendra Markodu, Vadiraj, Suresh Shetty Kadoor, Bhaskar Billava, Shankar Ankadakatte and others were present.

We also heard but later came to know that some of them were killed due to property issues in their own house. Some were killed due to internal politics few were killed due to real estate business...

Some Hindu brother must have got killed by member of other community but that is not because he was BJP member or Hindu. But the culprits are arrested, they do not roam in the street and threaten others with dire consequences

Half the crowd is misled and others do not know why they are there. Its time to enlighten the ignorant about the designs of the Sanghis - to destabilise society in the name of religion which they do not practice. These are enemies of religion and they need to be informed wearing saffron does not make them representatives of religion. In fact, they have destroyed Hinduism

Hate mongers are wasting time by protesting arrest of goonda leader. This Bhatta should have been arrested before under goonda act and should have been debarred from karnataka state for his anti social activities.
