Puttur: HJV leader Ratnakar Shetty did not flee, was taken to another hospital, claim doctors

Puttur, Jun 15: In a fresh development, it is now claimed that HJV district president Ratnakar Shetty, who was reported to have fled from a hospital where he was undergoing treatment, did not flee at all, but was only taken to another hospital for tests.

Ratnakar Shetty had been admitted to Adarsh hospital in Puttur after he was injured in the clashes that erupted in Kalladka two days ago. It was said that he had been stabbed. It is also alleged that Ratnakar stabbed a person named Khaleel, who is also admitted to another hospital.

Early morning on Thursday June 15, it was reported that Ratnakar Shetty had escaped from the hospital despite tight security, after which three cops were suspended for negligence.

However, now, doctors at the hospital have claimed that Shetty did not flee, and had instead been taken to a hospital in Mangaluru as he developed chest pain. Tests such as x-ray and ECG have been done, and now he is back in the Puttur hospital, admitted in the ICU, doctors said.

According to sources, when asked whether Ratnakar Shetty was taken to another hospital without the knowledge of the police, a doctor reportedly said that as he was not under official arrest yet, they did not need police permission to take him to another hospital.

When contacted, SP Bhushan G Borase said that he too has received messages in this regard. When asked why the cops were suspended if Ratnakar Shetty had not fled, he said the matter is being investigated.

Kalladka disturbances - Injured HJV leader flees from Puttur hospital, three cops suspended

Updated

Puttur, Jun 15: Leader of Hndu Jagarana Vedike (HJV) who was allegedly involved with disturbances in Kalladka and who was being treated for his injuries, succeeded in escaping from the private hospital here where he was admitted for treatment.

Ratnakar Shetty, president of the local unit of Hindu Jagran Vedike, succeeded in giving the police on guard duty a slip when they had fallen asleep late night on Wednesday June 14. Shetty has been accused of attacking a person named Khaleel during the unsavoury incidents at Kalladka.

On Thursday June 14, three police personnel, namely head constable Radhakrishna, constable Ramesh Lamani and PSI Omana were suspended for negligence and dereliction of duty.

Shetty was being treated as he had suffered injuries during the frictions. It had been reported that he was stabbed.

Police personnel had been posted to ensure that he did not escape.

Police from both the town and Bantwal police stations have now been searching for the missing accused.

    Dear Avinash ,

These are the confusions we all have in our mind. Why cant you clear all this for us rather than taking us to illusive world of Feku Theory.

    Confusion Number 1:
    # Morning hospital staff says as per CCTV record he escaped in the midnight. ==> Later doctor says CCTV was not working during that time.

    Confusion Number 2:
    # Doctor Says he sent him to KMC Hospital => Patient says he went to Wenlock Hospital

    Confusion Number 3 :
Doctor says his condition was critical due to heart pain. As per policy he should be taken in Ambulance, ==> Patient says he went with his own Ritz Vehicle

    Confusion Number 4 :
    # Patient says he recovered fully when he reach Mangalore , so he came back ... ==> Doctor says he is in ICU as his condition is critical.

    Confusion Number 5 :
While coming to the hospital he dint had any injuries in his hand ==> Soon after doctor checked him he have big injuries in his hand and bandage is tied.

    Confusion Number 6 :
Doctors job is to treat patient ==> Why this doctor is defending the patient and speaking about communalism , religion etc.

    Confusion Number 7 :
During the day he injured there was many hospitals near to kalladka.. Also on the way to the current hospital ...Why the patient chosen only this Hospital ...

    Confusion Number 8 :
If there was no evidence of escape why police suspended those responsible cops? Can we assume police department is so much fool to act fast?

    Confusion Number 9:

If the so called doctor sent the patient for higher treatment why there was no single record in your hospital till 11 am and also why none of the night duty hospital staff were aware?

Why can't the hospital authorities clear all these confusions , why cant hospital make CCTV footage public so public can believe that this story is true and not fabricated.

Hospitals in puttur are well known for their pro chaddi attitude barring few...
Are police so dumb to suspend their own men for negligence of duty...but later find some doctor shifted for a test...Doesn't that doctor have courtesy to inform the police..I really doubt those police men were sleeping...

Wanted to hide weapons from his house and after the mission accomplished, return to hospital again. If the complain was not registered, why police guards ? Does he looks like he requires ECG, X-ray etc. ? Only thing he requires is high voltage electric shock to bring his brain to proper senses.

This incident clearly indicates that Rathnaker is the real culprit. We should protest against the police department and fake docter for providing shelter to such culprits. It is very sad news that some of the innocent people are caught and beated by the police personnel. To have a healthy society cops must work without differentiating any culprit on the basis of caste.

by looking at him the way he sleep we can assume just to escape from criminal charges he got admitted in hospital, nothing injuries on him, just wearing bandage to get sympathy from KB and sanghis.
now police should find him and give him third degree treatment so that in future he never join such organisations and interrupt peace in the society.

It's really unfortunate that the cops are negligent and one gets a feeling that everyone is hand-in-glove. The state government needs to take strict action against the erring cops and their department.

Most importantly, running away from the hospital only proves that Ratnakar & HJV is GUILTY.

I agree with Rajesh. It is now evident that the hospital would have provided fake medical reports and this is a grave offense. The doctor should be stripped of his title and courts should order an high-level investigation.

As far as the cops are concerned, they should be brought to justice and strict action should be taken against them.
