Kundapur: Annual feast of St Antony celebrated at Kerekatte

Kundapur, Jun 14: Annual feast of St Antony was inaugurated by bishop of Mangaluru diocese Dr Aloysius Paul D'Souza at St Anthony Shrine, Kerekatte here on Tuesday, June 13. The bishop was also the chief celebrant of the Eucharistic celebration of the feast.

Invoking God's blessings, bishop of Shivamogga diocese Dr Francis Serrao said, "We should be aware about the significance of God and follow good values in our lives. That definitely helps everyone build a good family in the society."

Bishop of Udupi diocese Dr Gerald Issac Lobo, Fr Anil D Souza, director of St Anthony shrine Fr Xavier Pinto and priests of Kundapura and Udupi diocese were present during the holy mass.



































































Addressing the gathering bishop Aloysious Paul D'Souza said, "The prinicples of St Anthony were inspirational. We should show more concern towards poor and needy people. We should serve selflessly with love, then surely God will bless us. Devotion towards St Anthony should be more who will bless our lives."

Meanwhile, bishop Aloysious Paul D'Souza rung the bell of St Anthony Shrine and symbolically kicked off the Golden Jubilee celebrations.  

Bishop Dr Gerald Issac Lobo laid foundation stone for the new bell tower here.  

Eralier, Fr Xavier Pinto welcomed the gathering. Leena Tauro compered the program.

During the occasion, candles were presented to those who helped during the preparations for the golden jubilee celebration. Several devotees thronged the shrine and offered prayers to St Anthony.
