Mysuru: Panchayat president forces man to engage in inhuman manual scavenging

Daijiworld Media Network-Bengaluru (RJP)

Bengaluru, Jun 8: A case of banned manual scavenging has been reported from Tavarakatte in Chamundi Hill Gram Panchayat limits on Tuesday, June 6. Unbelievably the gram panchayat president is the one who made a civic worker to clean the manhole near her house.

Chamundi Hill GP president Geetha asked civic worker Ganesh to get into a manhole near her house to clean it on Tuesday. Ganesh without any choice started cleaning the manhole. Only because a passerby captured the video, the incident could be reported.

Ganesh, working on contract basis, was threatened by Geetha that he would be dismissed if he failed to clean the manhole. It is said Ganesh and another civic worker Cheluvaraju cleaned the manhole from 9.30 am to 12 noon. While Ganesh got into the manhole, Cheluvaraju assisted him, it is gathered. An?unidentified passerby recorded the incident and sent to his friends.

Zilla Parishad CEO P Shivashankar said that as the PDO was on leave due to an accident, he has asked the government to take stern action against the gram panchayat president.

What a state of affairs of this country. pathetic. The Capitalist exploit the downtrodden and weaker people. That lady is unfit to be called Geetha but she is a pure devil . She should be made to stand in that manhole for half a day without even drop of water to drink. Ropes should be tied around her waist and lowered in that manhole and those ropes should be fastned tightly, so that she is not allowed to come out. Then only she will realize her folly. Down with these type of ladies who exploit such people. Oh God save our country from such rogues. They seems to be looking holy but they are the evil Lucifer Devils. Handover your judgement immediately on those people who exploit others and bring tears in others eyes. UNFIT lady and she should be removed from her posts. Jai Hind.

Some time back I saw a news about removing dead bodies of animals by Dalit in Gujarat... Upper caste people were forcing Dalits to remove dead bodies... In India everywhere the same case.... not only in Karnataka. Only Governments are different in Gujarat and Karnataka but people are same. So we need not support Congress Government in Karnataka or condemn them or BJP Government in Gujarat.

we need sophisticated machinery to clean such manholes instead of men entering the same risking there life always. What development done by congress.government who ruled country more than sixty years. Even not able to give necessity things to people like electricity..shelter..water..or food. Only gone after looting wealth of nation and divided people in the name of religion.
Where today they stand party of 125 years..everybody knows.
What he needed for country just import from overseas. At low price getting different machinery to clean such odd jobs smoothly. Here we cannot even blame panchayat president in this matter. Give them training such manual labours..who still struggling and living below poverty line.
