Mangaluru, May 29: Dakshina Kannada district superintendent of police (SP), Bhushan G Borase, has warned people who have been spreading false messages though WhatsApp and Facebook mediums about the clash between two groups of young men belonging to two different communities at Kalladka on May 26.
Noting that some anti-social elements are actively spreading baseless rumours with the aim of disturbing peace in the society, he has warned the concerned of taking strict action against the guilty as per the provisions of the law.
The SP has requested people not to attach any importance or repose belief in such messages that are unsubstantiated and untrue. "Those who want any clarification on the issue may directly call cellphone 9480805301 or the police control room. A case has been registered about the said incident in Bantwal town police station and investigation is progressing rapidly. People from both the communities involved are cooperating with the police in the investigation," Borase said.

In the meanwhile, Kalladka remains peaceful and vehicular and people's movement remains normal. Shops an other establishments are open and prohibitory orders under section 144 continues to be in force, police officials stated. Out of additional police forces deployed from elsewhere, some have been retained in sensitive areas. The SP himself along with senior police officers are doing the rounds to closely monitor the situation, it is gathered.
The SP said that by working closely in a friendly atmosphere, all the communities can together create a beautiful society replete with peace and harmony.
