Udupi, Mar 25: The 125th birth anniversary celebrations of Rastra Kavi Govind Pai and the releasing ceremony of his poetry and plays were held on Monday March 24, jointly organized by Rastra Kavi Govind Pai Research Centre, Kavyalaya Publication Mysore and Manipal Academy of General Education, at MGM College Ravindra auditorium here.

Renowned litterateur Kayyara Kinhanna Rai, while presiding over the programme, said that he has authored three books based on Govind Pai. The Rashtra Kavi was known to have mastered 25 international languages and hence he could be acclaimed as World Poet. However, it is unfortunate that many of the natives are not aware of this fact and restrict themselves to their houses instead of spreading the fragrance of Kannada across the world, he lamented.

President of Dr TMA Pai Foundation K K Pai, honorary director of Manipal Institute of Communication M V Kamath,  Dr Jayaprakash Mavinakuli, K K Murthy, Prof Muralidar Upadhya and others were present.
