Kuwait: Entertainment galore as TKK hosts 'Rasamanjari' musical nite

Kuwait, Apr 28: Tulu Koota Kuwait, under the leadership of the president Wilson D’Souza organized Rasamanjari 2017, a mega musical feast, an event full of entertainment, on April 21 at the American International School, Kamel Al Rayes Auditorium, Maidan Hawally. The musical nite featured performances by prominent guest singers, background music by leading musicians from India along with the award winning singers from Kuwait. The classical dances, film dances and comical skits from various artistes entertained more than thousand enthusiasts.

The event commenced with the Kuwait and Indian National Anthems, followed by the lighting of the lamp done by president Wilson D’Souza and Venu Sharma from Bhandary Builders along with the convener of Tulu Koota Kuwait, members of advisory committee and management committee. While Lydia Misquith and Abdul Razak welcomed the gathering with a brief introduction about Tulunadu and Tulu Koota Kuwait in a charming way, a welcome classical dance by the members of Nritta Dhyana Dance group kick-started the event.

Chetan Kumar Shetty took over the stage with his self introduction in a unique way. Also he thanked the Tulu Koota Kuwait for giving him an opportunity to host an event at the international level. His multifaceted ability, confidence and involvement kept the crowd connected. He introduced the well-known musicians who arrived from India - Venugopal on keyboard, Rajgopal Acharya on lead guitar, Prakash Antony on rhythm programme/drums and Rajesh Bhagwath on cong/tabla.

As the stage was all set and ready and the audience were eagerly waiting to enjoy the music and was no reason for any further delay. The first song of the event was sung by Rashmi Naravi, a famous singer who won the hearts of the audience with her melodious voice on her first visit to Kuwait, followed by Nihal Tauro, a teen sensation and Ajay Warriar, a famous singer who has lent his voice to many movies. Their performance reached the hearts and the souls of the audience and proved the power of music and no doubt they have proved the saying “Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imaginations and life to everything”. They presented many Hindi, Kannada, Tulu and Konkani songs, both fast and melodious. The award winning and celebrated singers from Kuwait Joylin Gonsalves, Gladys Lorena, Sara Lobo and Glen Vaz also joined the team and showcased their talent.

As promised the show was not just limited to the music, Nritta Dhyana dance group with classical dance and Fusion Dance Academy with their contemporary style dance made the evening more colourful. Kids of Tulu Koota also made use of this opportunity to showcase their talents in dance which was choreographed by Shobha Harish Bhandary, Adarsh and Akash. Apart from the dance Tulu Koota Kuwait talented members, Lional Mascarenhas, Abdul Razak, Lucy Lobo Aranha, Rajesh Cardoza, Johnson Almeida, Sathish Saldana, Lydia Misquith and Rajesh Fernandes performed three comic skits, as a special package.

As no event could be successful without proper financial support, many organizations and individuals from Kuwait as well as from India supported the Tulu Koota Kuwait through their sponsorship for the event. In appreciation of their support Tulu Koota Kuwait honoured representatives of such organization with bouquet and memento as a token of gratitude. Main sponsor Bhandary Builders represented by Venu Sharma released the brochure of their iconic project –“Bhandary Vertica” and he briefed the audience about the amenities and facilities available at the said project. Chief guest Ashraf Ayoor, associate of Bader Al Samaa Medical Center, event sponsors, thanked Tulu Koota for giving an opportunity to associate with it, and assured continued support and association. Also, he spoke about the medical facilities available at Bader Al Samaa Medical Center.

Guest artistes, local singers and choreographers of the dances were honoured with a bouquets and mementos in appreciation of their performances while certificates of participation were issued to all the participants.

Tulu Koota Kuwait also bid farewell to Muralidhar Loku Bhandary, a senior member of Tulu Koota Kuwait who is leaving Kuwait after his retirement from 35 years of service here. He was a dedicated member of the association and rendered his voluntary service to the association in may capacities. Three other active members of the association Foustin Pinto, Sathish Kotian and Abdul Razak were also honoured for their outstanding contributions.

TKK took the opportunity to invite two visiting priests Fr Vincent Coelho and Fr Michael D’Silva who addressed the gathering and blessed the association, its members and also mentioned how charity is important for both the one who give as well as the one who is in need.

Wilson D’Souza, president of Tulu Koota Kuwait in his address to the gathering expressed that he feels happy, fulfilled and proud to be part of Tulu Koota Kuwait, an organization formed based on three objectives viz, unity through language, promote and support rich cultural values and contribute towards social welfare and education. He also informed that Tulu Koota is one among the very few associations which has members from different backgrounds, beliefs yet united together as one family, and is also called as Tulu Kutumba Kuwait. He also informed about the achievements of the association and its various welfare projects under the banner of 'Glimmer of Hope – Bhagyada Bolpu', on how Tulu Koota Kuwait is trying to help the needy and underprivileged in the society. He added that this year Tulu Koota will be focusing on the child welfare and identified 3 projects to associate with which are directly benefiting children with special needs and the less privileged. He requested all to support Tulu Koota in this noble act. He further thanked all the committee members and volunteers for their collective effort for the success of the event.

The programme was well coordinated by cultural secretary Ronald D’souza, with the support from his cultural team and dedicated and collective hard work by the members of all committee and volunteers deserves a lots of appreciation for such a vibrant event.

General secretary Jagadeeshwara Shanubhogue thanked whole heartedly sponsors of the event, artistes, all committee members of the association and all other organizations and individuals who supported the association in organizing and presenting the colorful event Rasamanjari 2017. This was followed by raffle draw where 5 lucky people won exciting prizes while 15 others bagged consolation prizes.

The mega musical fest came to an end with famous song 'Tukur tukur' by Nihal Tauro followed by medley – the fusion mix of old and new fast songs from all the artistes.
