Kundapur: Illegal cattle slaughtering - Police raid colony at Movadi, arrest three

Kundapur, Apr 25: Police conducted raids at Movadi Koragara colony near Gangolli on the night of Monday April 24 and arrested three persons for illegally slaughtering cattle there.

Gangolli police conducted the raids after receiving definite information that cattle were being slaughtered illegally for meat behind a house at Koragara colony, Movadi.

The three arrested are Mahesh and Harish of Movadi, and Bidkalkatte resident Srikanth.

The police seized the meat found at the place and took it to the police station. They also recovered the tools used to slaughter the animals. It is said that the animals were slaughtered for some special occasion at the residence.

Hindu Jagarana Vedike Gangolli unit has severely condemned the incident, alleging that an illegal slaughterhouse had been functioning in the area where cattle was being slaughtered for meat. HJV also urged the police to arrest the accused and punish the guilty.

A registered has been registered in Gangolli police station.

Dear Beef eaters and animal lovers
I am meat eater but not beef, hen we are in India we have to follow Indian constitution, as per our Article 48 of the Constitution of India mandates the state to prohibit the slaughter of cows and calves and other milk and draught cattle's. So simply just follow what constitution says. like we follow others rules not everyone is murderer or rapist.
If we are allowed to slaughter cows soon meat eaters like me will request government to add Man eating rights.

Do you know what is constitution? what is Penal Code? Have you read about Tipu, Nizam, Aurangazeb if not read they were also Muslims, beef eaters but they always maintain Indian culture values. even in their rule cow slaughter was banned! British were the first who spoiled Hindu and Muslim relations for their benefits by introducing number of Cow slaughter houses in India , and we are still paying for that hatred we never become brothers after that.
Today you want to eat beef tomorrow you will ask for other animals. Do you think you can kill a peacock or Tiger in India ? then why Cow?
We are living in Middle East yes, I can see many birds do we have courage to kill them?

hope within five year's period most of them prefer to have leafy vegetables, fish, chicken meat, goat/sheep meat in there diet. Mushrooms also available now a days in plenty..and even abandoned jack fruits.

We have two Muslim MLAs and one Christian MLA representing Mangalore.
You can urge these MLAs to permit one slaughter house per Taluk in DK. Let there be strict monitoring of hygiene. Let them buy cattle which is sold legally. Let them not accept stolen cows. Let them not dispose the waste by the road side.

Do you mean to say that these people are uneducated because they slaughter and consume beef ? Now, by your name I am assuming that you are a Hindu. But what is really astounding is that you have really no understanding of the people that constitute your religion. First, the mistake you do is that you consider Hinduism as a single monolithic thing, which it is clearly not. How did is came up with this conclusion? well, the beliefs of different people from regions differ considerably even though they consider themselves as Hindus. No problem i them having beef for the feast.
But let them buy it legally form legally authorized slaughter houses.

The blood and debris from illegal slaughterhouses rot and give ground to the proliferation of different bacteria, which might cause deadly diseases and infections in the surrounding area. No way we can support illegal slaughterhouses.

Interrogate properly and if the cows were stolen, let them be booked for theft too.

Why cow is god only for some hindus?
some are worship and some are eat.

make sure that actual god is God or Cow.

Because Hinduism isn't a traditional religion like yours. It's a combination of common philosophies and ideas, with many differing from each other. It is the equivalent to India what China's traditional philosophies. The religion teaches that all living life is respected.The Cow, due to the agrarian nature of India's civilization has been extremely important in the survival of communities. Provider of Milk and help with labor in cultivating land and growing food and much more uses. This is why the preservation is held in high regard (amongst all castes). For a small amount of Hindus, this tradition isn't seen as important and so Beef is consumed - in places such as Kerala & for poor people. I have no problem with it. Since Hinduism also accommodates philosophies of atheism - Hindu atheists may eat Beef. Also, much of the Beef in India is actually Buffalo Meat & not Cow. While Cow slaughter is banned in many states (central-north India), Buffalo slaughter is allowed there (which media doesn't report) & beef is available.
People also want to put an end to the stealing of Cattle which devastates many communities who rely on them as well as ILLEGAL slaughterhouses.
And also, the term God is usually malleable, it may be taken literally or not, whoever says Cow is God doesn't represent everyone - but what he does mean to say is that it's held in high regard (for them).
PS, I am a non-vegetarian but I don't eat Beef, I don't have any objection to it, but if Cow-slaughter is banned somewhere, authorities have every right to enforce it, Beef can still be available via Buffalo meat.

We used to attend Christmas party at my Catholic friend's house & eat Pork with my Muslim friends during our college time, we respect Humanity first, religion second.

Now do you want me to question the religion or can I ask you why Pork is Haram for Muslims?
