Mysuru: Defeated BJP man Srinivas Prasad never to contest polls again

Daijiworld Media Network - Mysuru (RJP)

Mysuru, Apr 14: Former minister in Siddaramaih’s Cabinet and now a defeated man from BJP, V Srinivas Prasad has said that he will never contest elections again in his life.

Speaking to reporters after losing the battle in the Nanjangudu by-polls, Srinivas Prasad said “I had faced embarrassment when I lost my cabinet post without any consultation. That was a big blow to my self esteem. So I decided to resign as Congress MLA and contest the election from BJP. I had already said that I will not be contesting the 2018 Assembly elections. Now I will remain in active politics, without contesting elections, but rendering service to society. “

“I had the confidence of winning this election with a margin of 5,000 votes. But during the last two days of campaigning, Congress spent a lot of money to lure voters. I had said that this is a contest between me and Siddaramaiah. Now I admit that it is a victory of Siddaramaiah and Congress. But Siddaramaiah should reflect about his victory and think how he won. His conscience should tell him the truth,” he added.

“I am not unhappy. I accept the verdict of people. I am grateful to those thousands of people, who supported me. I also feel that this is the big blow to the self confidence of my supporters.” he opined.

“No ways the results of these two by-polls will have a bearing on next Assembly elections. BJP will triumph next time. Though I am away from poll politics, I will always be there for BJP as an active politician.” he concluded.

Hahaha....Boda sheera....We have many examples around. People have served in one single party for long time and left the party in their old age and finally became nowhere. In Kaup Mr. Bhaskar Shetty, Mr. Vasantha Salian, Mr. Dhananjaya Kumar etc. This trend will continue and Jaya Prakash Hegde, S.M. Krishna, Tejaswini all will be nowhere one day.

Hello Mr. Prasad, thank you very much for never contesting any polls again and also never accept any position too. Please stop blaming others and jumping like a monkey. It is nice if you do social work but not poisoning citizens. Best thing to start with help all beggars in your area and help homeless people. About victory and defeat it is common in life, but you showed that you are so much greedy and cheat citizens by changing your colour. It is totally failed, and you must accept it. Do not blame or do not say lies. It should be a good lesson to other political parties too including Congress, which citizens want serious candidates who understand them. Hope in future also people will vote for the right people who are honest and hard working leaders.

His foolishness has necessitated a bypolls. Taking 2014 as the base, the cost of holding 1 election works out to: 10 CR per assembly constituency. When half of the country's population living below the poverty line and these frequent elections, how does the development will reach to the real people?
Why can't Election commision amend a law which restrict any elected representative from crossing over to any party before the completion of 5 years term? Why can't the election expenses will bared by the candidate who has resigned before the term?
There is much more spending in these bypolls which is beyond the common man's imagination. If he can't respect and serve the people's mandate, he is not eligible to represent these people again. There are many Indians without any name deliver to the needy. Is Srinivas Prasad need only political platform to serve his people?

Instead of doing japa and preparing for the next phase of life, he betrayed the party which gave him name, fame and an ultra luxurious life. Can BJP trust him?
