Mangaluru: Qureshi case - Do not blame police system for minor faults- Khader

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (RJP)

Mangaluru, Apr 11: Minister for food and civil supplies U T Khader on Monday April 10, said that police personnel should not be blamed for minor faults and there is no saffronisation in police force as some people have alleged.

Khader was speaking to reporters here in a press meet and he made the statement when he was asked about Ahmed Qureshi case.

“Ahmed Qureshi case has been referred to the home minister. I also spoke to him. He has promised that he will get the complete report and act accordingly.” Khader added.

Ahmed Qureshi and his family had alleged atrocity and torture while he was in police custody. Presently he is talking treatment in a private hospital as per recent court order.

When asked about his visit to the hospital to meet Ahmed Qureshi, Khader said, "I had visited the hospital but I could not meet Ahmed Qureshi. But I have gathered information about Qureshi and passed it to the home minister. I visited Urwa ASI Aithappa who is in a hospital and enquired about his health.”

Referring to both the cases, Khader said “Action will be taken based on the investigation reports. No guilty will be spared."

Saffronisation

When asked if the police department had been saffronised as alleged by some people, Khader said, "How can a department become saffronised? It is totally wrong to blame the entire police department for the mistake of one or two personnel. We find wrong people in every establishment. We need to identify such police personnel and take stringent action against them,"

On being asked why people have dragged his name into the issue, Khader replied, “This is not the first time my name is dragged into a case. It has happened many times in the past. I cannot do anything about it. No one throws stones at banyan tree. All throw stones at only mango tree.”

If all of you are intending to get a free treatment for Mr. Qureshi's kidney ailment, then I am with you. Our MLAs too can get some funds both from the government and from their pockets.

But his family and friends should assure that Qureshi will be tried as per law on all cases charged on him once he recovers.
I dont like protest gatherings in and around Mangalore. Moreover I can not see my friends caned after the gatherings!

Khader Sir, everyone expects something good from mango trees. So no one goes near banyan tree. Mangoes are feeded to all the people in the society dont focus only on single person. There are so many people who are victims of this, provide justice to all of them dont focus on single person.

Losing two kidneys for nothing is minor issue? What is the punishment for officers faults? Quaraish got punished for no fault and Police officers not get punished for fault.

''there is no saffronisation in police force''

If there is no saffronisation of the police force, why are there no arrest during moral policing done by saffron outfits? There are many incidents where police have not taken any action on saffron outfits.

You can fool some people some of the time, but you cannot fool all people all the time.

I have no trust in our police and I definitely have no trust on any politician.

Khadar is a gentleman. Khadar has always remained neutral and allowed law to take its own course.

As i remember, there are no instances where Khadar stood by any accused and assert indirect pressure on police.

Frankly, Sir, you should have been in BJP.
