Mangaluru, Mar 26: The keenly awaited finale of the Mr & Miss Mangalore contest was held in a grand manner on Saturday March 26 at Mangalore Hills here. The event was organized by In5inity Entertainment in association with Malgudi Talkies.
Shaasthra Shetty was crowned Miss Mangalore, while Siddhanth Shetty won the Mr Mangalore title.
Raveena and Varsha Shetty won the first and second runner-up titles in the Miss Mangalore category. Rithesh Shetty and Shantanu Shetty bagged the first and second runner-up spots in the male category.
Mr and Miss Mangalore pageant was judged by fashion choreographer Sameer Khan, producer Ashok Shetty, model Vikas Puthran, Kavya Shetty and Viraja, all well-known personalities in fashion and modelling world.
Among female contestants, the Best Hair title was won by Akshata Shetty, Shreya Harish won the title of Best Photogenic Face, Krupa Shetty bagged the Miss Talented and Beautiful Skin titles, Best Ramp Walk title was bagged by Avani, Priyanka Shetty won the Best Smile title, Shastra Shetty won the title of Miss Beautiful Eyes, and Varsha Shetty won Beautiful Personality title.
Jayaprada won the pre-event online contest as the 'most popular contestant', with maximum likes on social media.
In the male category, Manish won the Best Hair title, Shantanu Shetty was awarded the Best Model Material and Ramp Walk titles, Siddharth Shetty won the Best Skin title, Mr Talented title was won by Rithesh Shetty, Chirag won the Mr Photogenic title, and Mr Handsome title was bagged by Shreyas Shetty.
A total of 24 finalists, 12 each from the male and female categories, vied for the prestigious title in the finals. Contestants were screened through three elimination rounds including ramp walk and a question-answer session. Contestants introduced themselves to the audience at the beginning of the ramp walk.
Dance performances by dance crew Sizzlers enthralled the audience. Band 'Nuts and Fruits' from Mumbai held the audience spell-bound with their lineup of old melodies.
Madhu Shetty, vice-president of BJP Dakshina Kannada unit, renowned beauty consultant Kent Meera, director of Malgudi Talkies Ashok Shetty, were the chief guests of the star-studded night.
The beauty pageant was sponsored by Westline Group and co-sponsored by Hangyo.
Prateek Shetty congratulated all the winners and thanked the participants for the impressive display of panache. Dharmith Rai, Vardhan, actress Disha Dinakar and Kishan were present on the dais.
