Bengaluru: ED cleared Reddy to fund Rs 500 crore for election expenses of BJP - HDK fires fresh bomb

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, Mar 24: State president of JD(S), H D Kumaraswamy, has fired another salvo at BJP. In a fresh allegation, he has accused BJP of entering into a pact with former minister Gali Janardhana Reddy for payment of kickback amounting to Rs 500 crore for meeting expenses connected with the next assembly election.

Addressing a convention of his party organized on Thursday March 23 at Palace Ground here, he stated that Reddy is being given a clean chit in cases filed with the Enforcement Directorate and other central investigation agencies. He also said that the assets of Reddy seized by the agencies are being released back to him.

"The state government has allowed the report filed by the then Lokayukta, Justice Santosh Hegde, about smuggling of iron ore through Belekeri port. The concerned is getting absolved of all cases of huge corruption which happened during the period BJP was in power," he explained.

The assembly election in the state is due next year. There have been accusation of parties trying to fill their coffers for fighting the election with the help of people with questionable integrity. The allegation now made by Kumaraswmay is likely to give rise to debate in political circles. The allegation now levelled also may be linked to the charges made by the then minister, Janardhana Reddy, about ten years back charging the then chief minister, Kumaraswamy, of demanding a bribe of Rs 150 crore.

Kumaraswamy chose to throw barbs at Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, BJP, and B S Yeddyurappa. He accused Modi of working like Pied Piper in selling dreams to people in exchange for votes. He warned people of getting disillusioned if they follow Modi. He asked the youth to find for themselves how many jobs Modi has created, after promising two and half years back to create 25 crore new jobs. He asked people not to fall prey to false promises and catchy phrases.

Just weeks after the government announced measures to clean up political funding in India, the government is removing limits on how much companies can contribute towards political donations as part of several amendments the government has proposed to the Finance Bill.

Here's How Modi Government Dismantled Your Right To Transparent Political Financing:
The Finance Bill amendments do three things: one, they amend Section 182 of the Companies Act to remove all caps on the amount companies can donate to political parties (prior to the amendment, this stood at 7.5% of the average net profits of the company for the last three years, to prevent companies being set up as fronts to channel money into political parties--that protection is also now gone). Two, they free the company from mandatory disclosure of donations made by it to political parties in its profit and loss books--the company no longer needs to say whom it donated to.

For those campaigning for political finance reform, this must feel like the final nail in the coffin. The problem thus far was the large number of cash donations under Rs 20,000 from anonymous donors that parties were reporting, but what the government has done is close the door for relatively small anonymous donors and open the door for any size of anonymous donations through electoral bonds. Simultaneously, the government has shown no interest in the other two massive areas of concern the continuing disregard of national political parties for the Central Information Commission's ruling on opening them up to the RTI Act, and the blatant flouting of foreign funding rules by the Congress and the BJP.
So from April 1 this year, we could potentially have absolutely no information about who is donating to our political parties--surely not the direction citizens expected political financing to go in after Jaitley's budget speech declaration promising to "clean the country from the evils of corruption, black money and non-transparent political fund.

Interestingly,Accused Jarakeholi challenged retiring from active politics if BSY's allegation of (IT Raid)of unaccounted wealth running in cores!!

What it shows?Modi uses CBI,ED and IT to tarnish Congress Govt eying for forthcoming ASSEMBLY general election KARNATAKA?

If both the Congress ppl r clean why don't they file defamation case ?
It clearly shows they r currupt to core
By pointing at others nobody can hide their illegal activities
Regarding teddy or yeddyurappa court as taken the decision
State Govt had already appealed against that
Wait for Apex court to decide

Now I see why the BJP joined hands with him to form the governmemt. They tried their best to set him right but then as Sri says he is a very very corrupt politician. He hit the BJP then ran and that's how the corruption spread like an epidemic, then it passed on to the present government. Sadly there's no proof or credible evidence :(
