Riyadh Mar 16: Aangann Konknnechem Riyadh (AKR) held its general body meeting of 2017 on March 3 here.

After a lot of deliberation, the following members were elected as office- bearers to form the Executive Committee.

Vice President: Jacinta D’Souza, Mangaluru/Dammam
General Secretary: Sony Menezes, Mangaluru/Riyadh
Joint Secretary: Inish Fernandes, Mudarangadi/Riyadh
Coordinators: Naveen Melwyn D’Souza, Palimar/Dammam; Felix D’Silva, Paladka/Riyadh; Richard Rodrigues, Udupi/Jubail; Richard Cardin, Kundapur/Dammam; Roshan Rodrigues, Bendoor/Jeddah.
Treasurer: Rupan Almaida, Puttur/Riyadh
Cultural Secretaries: Ralph D’Souza, Mangaluru/Riyadh; Herald D’Souza Mudarangady /Riyadh; Sarita D’Souza, Palimar/Dammam;
Logistics: Arun D’Souza Mangaluru/Riyadh, Wilson Crasta Bambil/Jubail and Alwyn Nazareth Bajpe/Jubail.

Kevin Nazareth, Vincent Sequeira, Allen D’Souza, Naveen Fernandes and Edwin Pinto were chosen as the Advisors to AKR Executive committee.

The meeting started with a prayer and AKR Gurkar Arun D’Souza welcomed everyone present. He thanked Ex President Roshan Lobo for his service, Executive Committee and Members of AKR, Well wishers and Konkani lovers of The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and other countries too. New members were welcomed into the group.

The detailed financial statement was given by Jacinta D’Souza highlighting the contributions and expenditures incurred. Report also included AKR's contribution to the sick and needy through various trusts and individuals.

Aangann Konknnechem (AKR) is a non profitable organization involved in promoting Konkani culture and language through various programmes in Riyadh and Dammam. They have also conducted several programmes to help the youth to promote their talent since its inception in 2007. They are helping the poor for their educational needs and also involved with several charitable institutions in Mangaluru.

Aangann Konknnechem is celebrating its 10th Anniversary too.
