Mangaluru, Mar 6: A houseful audience witnessed the technically-brilliant 'Tum Vhorto Dhonea' Biblical Konkani drama written and produced by Richie John Pais and directed by Arthur Rasquinha, staged at Don Bosco Hall in Mangaluru on Sunday, March 5.

The drama was an amalgamation of creative abilities and technical brilliance. Lot of appreciation came from the audience who experienced LED screen for the first time on Konkani stage. Ashith Pinto as the music director had composed special Biblical music. Narayan Raj was the technical in-charge who created special graphics.

The play will be remembered for long for reviving the Biblical theme based stories which had become rare in the recent past.

In a short programme before the drama started, poet Titus Noronha said, "We used to carry mattresses to watch a drama years back during our childhood. Konkani dramas have come a long way since then. I am a keen observer of Konkani stage. We should use our knowledge and expertise to increase the quality of plays. Commitment is more important than anything in this filed."

Walter Nandalike, editor-in-chief of daijiworld.com, said, "It is nice to witness many Konkani programmes throughout the world. But at the same time organisers should make sure that Konkani programmes are not held on the same day at the same time. A strong association of artistes will solve this problem and foster unity among them. I suggest the artistes to come together and take concrete steps in this direction. I am happy to witness this occasion. I wish all the best for this drama, where I am told, special technology is used to depict the Biblical times."

All the donors and technicians were honoured by Titus Noronha and Walter Nandalike respectively. Fr Onil D’Souza conducted the initial prayers.

'Tum Vhorto Dhonea' (Lord You are Great) story is based on the book of Job in the Old Testament. Job Patriarch, the protagonist of the drama, is known for his unshakable faith. He does not lose his faith in his Creator in spite of losing all his wealth and children. His friends visit and comfort him, but they blame him for his misery. God appears to Job in the end and restores his wealth and health.

Jeevan Vas, Nishma D’Souza, Usha Fernandes, Stany Machado, Nigel Pereira, Alwyn Tauro, Wilson Lobo, Steven Fernandes, Joachim Monteiro, Vincy Pinto, Roshan Lobo, Victor Rasquinha, Kevin D’Souza, Nolan Furtado, Lionel D’Souza, Preetham Monteiro, Neil Coelho, MacLean D’Souza, Stany Fernandes, Sean Fernandes, Nia Pais, Avril D’Souza, Luvina Noronha, Stallone Fernandes, Sara Furtado, Roydon Lobo, Roncia Lobo, Eva Lobo, Andrea Pinto, Anusha Pinto, Mishal D’Souza had acted in the two and half hours play.

Jerome Moras was the assistant director of the drama while Jerald Concessao was the stage manager.
