Kasargod: Gram panchayat vice president dies in accident

Kasargod, Feb 23:  In a road accident which occurred between a car and a scooter, the vice president of a gram panchayat who was moving in his scooter, lost his life. The incident occurred in the town on Tuesday February 21 evening.

The deceased happened to be Abdul Gafoor, vice president of Mogralputtur gram panchayat. He was a leader of Muslim League.

Gafoor was moving in his scooter on national highway when a Toyota Innova car hit his vehicle, it is said. He suffered serious injuries. Although Gafoor was admitted into a private hospital at Mangaluru, he breathed his last on Wednesday morning without responding to treatment.

Gafoor had won in the local bodies election held in November last as a Muslim League candidate, after which he was elected as vice president of Mogralputtur gram panchayat.
