Bengaluru, Feb 22: The CID police has given a clean chit to Premalatha and her husband Diwakar in the blackmail case filed against them by Ramachandrapura Math Seer Sri Raghaveshwara Bharati.

The CID has submitted its 'B' report in the alleged blackmail case in the Honnavar Judicial First Magistrate’s Court (JMFC) in Uttara Kannada on Wednesday.

The CID 'B' report has stated that there was no evidence to prove the Seer's allegations against Premalatha and Diwakar.

Sri Raghaveshwara Bharati had lodged a complaint against the couple after Premalatha levelled rape charges against the Seer.

In his complaint, the Seer had claimed that Premalatha and Diwakar had demanded Rs 2 crore "not to lodge rape complaint against him".

The complaint against the couple was lodged at Honnavar police station in August, 2014.

One of the most sought after case in the history of Karnataka and the one which gave media houses a “ Breaking news” for weeks and months was the Alleged Rape/ sexual assault case against The Seer of Ramachandrapura Mutt . The charge sheet filed in the sessions court had alleged the Seer of physically assaulting the a 48-year-old Ramakatha singer Premalatha Divakar before raping her. It also said that The Seer raped the victim each time he called her to his room on the pretext of holding a programme on Ramakatha. He took her to various places in Karnataka, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Rajasthan, New Delhi and West Bengal, for religious functions.

The Civil Court discharged seer for rape and for citing divine displeasure. The court held that there was no evidence to prove the charges.

Before court discharge the CBI filed chargesheet. based on forensic and DNA report of the Central Forensic Science Laboratory, Hyderabad, from the victim’s garments also forms crucial evidence in the case.

If both court and CBI gives 'clean chit' who is the actual perpetrator in the disciple murder case? Will court will have similar view if the terror suspect forensic evidence matches with crime seen? Is seers influence to pro 'cow' campaign which inline with BJP's 'beef ban' made court to discharge the accused?
