Belagavi : Absconding BJP MLA Raju Kage arrested in Maharastra

Belagavi, Jan 19: Bharamgoud Alagoud Kage, the MLA from Kagwad Assembly constituency, was arrested on Thursday, January 19 in Maharashtra. He was charged for assault on Congress worker Vivek Shetty and his mother on January 1. Kage had been absconding since then.

Police who got the information that Kage was staying in Maharashtra at Jyothirlinga temple in Bheemashankara went there on Thursday and arrested Kage. They have also arrested other 5 persons including Kage’s brother  Prasad Sidadgowda Kage with his wife and daughter Tripthi Kage. All of them will be brought to Athani and produced in court soon.

7 persons are still at large and police are searching for them. Kage is the 12th accused in the case. Cases under Indian Penal Code (IPC) 143, 147, 148, 342, 452, 307, 302, 323, 324, 326, 354, 367, 504, 506 and 149 were registered against 13 persons.

Kage and other 12 persons had entered the house of Congress worker Vivek Shetty and attacked him brutally for posting a status against BJP in his Facebook account. Rai’s mother was also attacked. The whole episode was recorded in CCTV cameras.
