Kundapur, Jan 15: In an incident which occurred at Hangalur in the outskirts of the town in the wee hours of Saturday January 14, an unidentified vehicle which rammed into an auto rickshaw, left the three-wheeler badly damaged and the driver, critically injured.
In this incident, auto rickshaw driver, Zainuddin from Mangaluru, who suffered serious injuries, was admitted into Wenlock Hospital Mangaluru. The three-wheeler was being driven towards the town from Mangaluru when a vehicle hit it at approximately around 1.30 am. The driver, who was fighting for life after getting stuck in the mangled vehicle, was rescued by some passersby and taken to hospital.
It is learnt that Zainuddin has wife and three daughters. His legs bore the brunt of the impact of the accident. A case relating to this incident was filed in traffic police station here.
