Caught on cam : BJP MP Ananthkumar Hegde thrashes doctors inside hospital

Karwar, Jan 3 (India Today) : A Bharatiya Janata Party MP from Karnataka was caught on camera assaulting staff of a private hospital in Karwar in Uttar Kannada district.

In a CCTV video, Karwar MP Ananthkumar Hegde is seen thrashing doctors alleging that they were not taking proper care of his mother admitted in the hospital. No case has been registered so far in the matter.

Dr Madhukeshwara Jeevi, Dr Balachandra and Dr Rahul Marshakar were reportedly thrashed by the BJP MP.

This is not for the first time that Hegde has been in news for a wrong reason.

CHEQUERED PAST

In March 2016, the police registered a criminal case against him suo motu for his remarks linking Islam to terrorism.

The five-time MP from Uttara Kannada had allegedly made the remarks at a press conference at Sirsi, drawing a link between Islam and terrorism, triggering protests from Muslim organisations.

Muslim organisations in the communally sensitive Bhatkal town in the district had held protests against Hegde.

It is really a shamful act. This shows the mentality and behavior of bjp MPs. First Nalin kumar's fire comment and now this act of Anant kumar hegde. People should wake up and stop electing such people who don't hv control over their tongue and body.

What a shame! What goondagiri it is! Where is the Hospital Administration? Where is the IMA? What are they doing? Are they afraid of this MP's goondaism? Where's Home Minister G.Parameshawar? BJP President Amith Shah? Will the Doctors bring this incident to the notice of PM Modi?

MP Ananth Kumar Hegde is not above the law. Fir Should be filed and the enquiry should be started. Why Yeddyurappa, Eshwarappa, Jagadish Shettar, Ashok are quiet? Is this BJP culture-attacking Doctors on duty?

It is a shame for a people representative to behave in this manner. Proper action has to be taken against him.

It is also an important matter to note that many hospitals do not treat patients in a professional manner. They take them for granted and when patients raise objection they do not care. This makes the relatives angry. But not a reason to take law into hands but should take hospital authorities to task legally.

These incidents will make doctors refuse politicians or their relatives as as patients.Assault is criminal & the offender should be jailed. There's no other option & of course if one is not happy with doctor or hospital they can always go elsewhere.Assault is completely wrong 👎 & people who support it are unfit to live in civilized society.Follow the law..it's the same for everyone.
