Canara Konkani Association celebrates Monthi feast

Mumbai, Sep 17: Monthi Fest was celebrated at IC Church Borivli Sunday Sept 14 by the Canara Konkani Association Borivli.

In the evening, at 5.45 pm children offered flowers to Mother Mary and novenas were conducted in the church premises.

Fr Francis Fernandes SVD was the main celebrant, along with Fr Richard Lasrado and Fr Vincent Barboza who co-celebrated the Holy Mass in Konkani. IC Konkani Choir sang melodious songs with the participation of the entire congregation.

For Konkani speaking Catholics of the parish, a cultural programme was organised at Pope Paul Hall of the parish after the holy Mass.

Variety of jokes, dances and songs were presented. A skit written by Joseph D'Souza, was presented by his team of actors; the skit had a moral and religious message to all.

Parish priest Fr Barthol, Fr Francis Fernandes SVD, Fr Melroy, Fr Vincent Barboza, chairman Albert D’Souza and vice chairman George D' Souza were present for the cultural programme along with a houseful audiences.

Fr Francis Fernandes SVD said grace before meals and all enjoyed the food prepared and served by Express Caterers. The programme was well organized and was compered by Veronica Noronha.
