EKKVOTE celebrates Monti Fest

Bangalore, Sep 12: EKKVOTE – An Association of Konkani Catholics of Bangalore East, celebrated the feast of nativity of mother Mary, popularly known in Konkani as ‘Monthi Fest’ at Sadupadesha Seminary Chapel, Hennur Road on Monday September 8. A great number of Konkani Catholics from all across Bangalore had gathered for the Konkani mass.

The solemn Eucharistic celebration was presided by Fr Jockim D’Souza, treasurer, Capuchin Provincialate of Karnataka. As a tradition, the new crop (nove) was blessed by the priest and around 50 children offered flowers to mother Mary.

“Sakkad Sangatha Melya” and “Moriyek Hogolsiyam” were sung. Sugarcane was distributed to the children after the mass and vegetarian meal was arranged for all.

EKKVOTE has been organizing the Monthi Fest celebration from past four years.
