CM, K J George, Baig join Archbishop for Nativity Feast

Bangalore, Sep 10: The Nativity Feast of Mother Mary was celebrated with religious fervour, pomp and glory at the St Mary’s Basilica Church in Shivajinagar and all the parishes in Bangalore Archdiocese on Monday.

Two high concelebrated masses in Kannada and Tamil were celebrated by Archbishop Dr Bernard Moras at the Shivajinagar, Russell market square in the presence of thousands of devotees.

The Vicar Generals, Chancellor, Procurators, Secretaries, Rectors, Administrators and other Hierarchy and councils members of the Archdiocese of Bangalore were the other concelebrants at the Holy Eucharistic celebrations in the St Mary’s Basilica Church at Shiajinagar,

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Home Minister K J George, Information and Haj Minister RoshanBaig as well as the local MLA N A Harris and BBMP Corporators attended the public function at the St Mary’s Basilica at Shivajinagar in the evening, when the Archbishop blessed the decorated Chariot.

The concluding day of novena and Feast day was celebrated in a grand manner with the cutting of a cake at midnight at the Shrine of Mother Mary by wish and singing Happy Birthday to Mother Mary.

The mass began at 4.30am and continued till 8.30pm in the evening by every half an hour and the masses were celebrate in three languages Kannada, Tamil and English.

Thousands of devotees of Our Lady of Good Health witnessed the wonders and participated in the procession with the decorated car of mother Mary statue.

The feast concluded with a final blessing through an adoration of Blessed Sacrament on the mega stage at Russell market square by Archbishop Bernard Moras.

The Konkani Catholic community celebrated Mother Mary’s feast as "Monthi Feast" in the traditional way after showrering flowers to Mother Mary in several parishes of the Archdiocese of Bangalore with special masses in Konkani.

The new corn was also blessed and sugarcane and sweets were distributed after the mass.

Many of the Parishes in the Archdiocese joined with the Konkani catholic community in the Mama Monthi Feast mass.

The Archbishop celebrated Monthi Feast mass at Blessed Theresa of Kolkata, Boopasandra, Bangalore.

Hundreds of Konkani faithful participated with singing praises to God through Mother Mary.
