Mangalore, Jul 6: The Tulu Horata Samiti on Wednesday, Jul 5 held a protest in front of the DC’s office demanding reservation for Tuluvas in the Central and State government jobs.

The Mulki-based Samiti, a registered body also placed demanded for 80 per cent reservation for Tuluvas in the industries. The Samiti which has been leading the campaign for a Tulu State has demanded that companies setting up units in the district should provide jobs for Tulu-speaking people.

The demonstration was led by Dinesh, convener of the committee. He said Tulu was among the Dravidian languages. As per the law, if a language was spoken by a majority of people in three districts, a State could be formed, he claimed.
