Mangalore: Tulu movie on Sri Narayana Guru to release in April

Mangalore, Jan 15: "The Tulu film industry has come up with one more devotional film titled 'Brahmashri Narayana Guru Swamy', on the life history of Brahmashri Narayana Guru as a saint and social reformer and his contribution to society. The film is particularly done out of the devotion I have towards Brahmashri Narayana Guru Swamy," said Rajashekar Kotian producer and director of 'Brahmashri Narayana Guru Swamy' movie.

Addressing a press meet here on Wednesday January 15, he said that film has been produced under the banner of Tungabhadra Films.

"The shooting is over, and presently the film is in post-production stage. The film will be released in the first week of April. The film has been shot in various locations of Kerala, Kundapur, Mulky, Udupi, Beltangady, Karkala, Padubidri and other places," he added.
 
"Mulky Chandrashekar Suvarna has written the story and contributed with art, Praveen Godkindi has composed the music, Devaraj Palan has done screenplay, and cinematography is by P K H Das who is also the assistant director. The dialogues are by Sudhakar Bananje, and the film has been edited by Sanjeeva Reddy, and lyrics are by Amruth Someshwar, Sudhakar Bananje, Chandrashekar Suvarna Mulky. Udith Narayan, Ajay Warier, Rajesh Krishna have rendered their melodies voice for the songs. Madhan-Harini choreographed the dance while Narayan K helped in still photography. The costumes are by Gagan Suvarna," he said.

He added, "Venkatadri has played the lead role of Brahmashri Narayana Guru, and Rajeshkar Kotian, Balakrishna Shetty, Suryodhaya, Abhayachandra Jain, Jaya C suvarna, Umanath Kotian, Chandrashekar Suvarna, Ashok Karnad, Chandrakanth, Sudheer Kotary, Ranjith, Gagan, Aravind Bolar, Bojaraj Vamanjoor, Boomika, Navya, Chitra Suvarna, Ashwini, and Poornima have acted in this movie. Abhayachandra Jain will play the role of Rabindranath Tagore and Shikaripur Krishna Murthy will be seen as Mahathma Gandhi."

"The film budget was expected to be Rs 1 crore but due to scarcity of junior artistes in the district, we get them from Bijapur by paying them Rs 450 per head per day and also bear all their expenses  We have not made any compromise in terms of expense, and technologically, it is a good movie. The film will be released in Mangalore, Udupi, Puttur, and Bangalore, altogether, in five theaters in the district and also in Mumbai, Nasik, Pune, Gujarath, Dubai, Bahrain and Kuwait,” he added. 

"We also hope to get the National Award and State Award for the film. If we win National Award we will get Rs 15 lac subsidy, if not 10 lac as regional film. The film has been made out of devotion towards Sri Narayana Guru. I have acted as villain in 23 films, as hero in 4 Kannada films.  I have also worked as assistant director with Om Prakash Rao for two films," he said.

Anil V P, movie distributor and Chandrashekar Suvarna were present.

    Sri Narayan Guru is a great saint well recognized in Coastal Karnataka having so many followers.Glad to know that Tulu movie being filmed os Sri Narayan Guru and will be released in April.All the best and let this movie be the best film of our state.Thanq.
