Mangalore: M Com course inaugurated at Pompei College

Mangalore, Jul 23: The inauguration of the first batch of PG MCom, course was held on July 22 at Pompei College, Aikala.

The principal, Dr John C Miranda welcomed, Fr Paul Pinto correspondent blessed and inaugurated the course.

The former principal, professor Patrick Menezes, Valerian Sequeira president of  PTA and alumini Sharath Shetty were on the dias.

The vice president of parish pastoral council Robert Rodrigues and Pompei PU college principal Fr Jerome D’Souza graced the occasion. Students pledged by holding the light with their hands that they would abide by the principle of excellence.

Professor Pradeep compered professor Akshatha porposed vote of thanks. All prayed through the intercession of Our Lady of Pompei. Students, parents and staff members were present.

    I am proud to be an ex student of Pompeii Pre-University of 1988 under the Guidance of Late Rev Fr. B L D'souza and entire faculty of his team he then built Pompeii senior college that time.

    Hearty congratulations to Management and students of Pomlei College,Aikala.Original pomei High school was one of the oldest school in South Canara which has completed 100 years long ago and gifted many high profile personalities to the soceity.Being one of the most dedicated school, PU section of one year duaration was started in the college way back in 1966-67(First batch PUC section)under the able and dedicated leadership of then Principal Rev.Fr.B.A.D'souza,the loved loved one teacher in those days.He was teaching English language which was the dearest subject for him and for those mostly coming from Kannada medium his lessons were 'Kabbinada kadale" to digest.His way of teaching various poetries especially William Wordsworth's poems was always rememberable.I am his student in PUC first batch(commerce) and I am still remembering him.His narrating ways of the 'deffodils' is still evergreen in my mind.
    Pompei Institution is not a education institution but it is a Temple of knowledge and devinity.
    Long live and prosper Pompie.....
