Mangalore: Girl from Kerala found dead, murder suspected

Mangalore: Bank employee's alleged murder - Male friend absconding

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangalore (SP)

Update: April 19

Mangalore, Apr 19: Relating to the mysterious death of Anjana, an assistant manager with Syndicate Bank Katipalla and native of Kozhikode in Kerala,  in her friend’s home, it has been learnt that her male friend Mahesh has been absconding ever since the incident came to light.

It is said that a part of the house in Bejai Kapikad was given on rent by Dolphy D’Souza to Ravi, who works in a private enterprise in the city. Ravi used to stay there with his friend, Mahesh. Mahesh was reportedly also known by the names Krishna and Shyama in other circles. No one knows his real name and whereabouts.

Mahesh worked as a fish cook in a food joint attached to Big Bazaar in the city. Anjana used to come to his home to meet him often, it is said.

At around 2.30 am on Thursday, Dolphy heard shouts of a woman from the rented portion. When he rushed there, he saw Anjana writhing in pain on the floor with a rope around her neck. She was alone there. Dolphy took her to a private hospital. As she was not identified, she was shifted by the policemen to Wenlock Hospital here, where she breathed her last at around 3.30 am on Thursday.

Anjana was meritorious in her studies, and was appointed by Syndicate Bank on the basis of her merit, eight months ago. It is said that Mahesh had illicit relationship with Anjana. Mahesh has disappeared now. Some say he is from Mumbai. It is suspected that some misunderstandings would have arisen between Anjana and Mahesh,  ending with the murder of the lady.

Anjana used to visit various malls in the city often, and during one of such visits, she reportedly came in contact with Mahesh, who befriended her. Mahesh used to escort her to various malls in the city regularly, it is gathered.

Anjana’s mother, who lived with her daughter in the bank quarters, had called up the bank’s branch about the non-arrival of her daughter back home after duty hours on Wednesday. The bank staff told her that Anjana had left the bank at 6 pm on Wednesday. After waiting for her daughter’s arrival, and contacting different places she had filed a missing complaint with the police on Thursday morning.

Urwa police have registered a case, and taken up investigation.

We cannot run away from the fact that love and physical attraction has no connection with money, position, or qualification!!

Thanks Rudolf. I forgot to add that little note RIP to Anjana. It is indeed a cruel world especially for a girl. I salute to each and every woman for the challenges she faces right from the word ‘birth’ till ‘death’ be it physical, be it emotional and the fight she fights all through her life. God it is truly amazing.

The crime here is murder by this rogue.

There is not need for any moral sermons to be given to the deceased girl. She has not committed any crime.

I agree with Vijay-Mangalore views!! We should first put ourselves in the victims shoes and think the mental/physical anguish and pain she might have gone through and empathize with her/her family at least by condoling and consoling!! Poking fun and making humorous quotes is like rubbing salt on the wounds!! One should be able to discern different situations before posting our comments!!

As you said nobody makes masti to bring gloom and doom, it is only the situations which forces one to get into, and they are never fully in our control!!

RIP Anjana!! This world is a cruel place!

I am reminded of the Rajesh Khanna starred "Hathi Mere Sathi" movie emotion filled song: "Nafrat ki Duniya ko chhod ke Pyaar ki Duniya mein Khus Rehna Mere Yaar"

It pains to read very highly talented people writing poems intended to create laughter on somebody’s death or personal tragedy. It is in bad taste when even one person is suffering due to a tragedy. Let’s please refrain from it. Some say why we have to mourn for others’ masti-induced tragedies. Nobody invites troubles knowingly. This girl did nothing wrong in loving a boy as she was independent, had a nice job, smart etc. It is her misfortune that ended up like this. If you do not want to express sympathy, do not. But do not make fun of such very sad situation. Instead let the same talent be used to show sympathy towards the family and friends and as a moral for the other readers.

This also goes to situations in dramas, jokes, emails etc where people make fun of physical disabilities like stammering, Esotropia (Squint, cross-eye, tirso), limping (monta) and others laugh. It’s a personal debility due to which a person is in deep emotional / physical anguish. What a shame we find it worth a laugh.

Please, this is my personal opinion and not morality advice. And of course it is limited to only personal and does not apply to such cases like politics etc.

Anjana had good education. She had a beutiful job. But still she was not satisfied with the love of her mother or fly. She was in search of love of some one. She found it but her choice was wrong. I hope she believed with maheshes sweet talkings. Mahesh must have squeezed money from her i believe. How long she can wait. I think she wanted to settle once for all. Mahesh must have refused or postponed or who knows maheshs background? He must have already married. Little she would have gathered information about him b4 anjana made friendship or falling inside the net of mahesh. Anjana, u were in behind of human love. Instrad if u would have thirsted for gods love u would not have met this tragedy. Now dont worry anjana , rest in peace.and experience the love of god.

    Sad indeed.

Why well educated girls fall in traps. The lady is young and have a dignified position in the bank, she should have made some exploration and research about the guy before coming closer to him, such as his family background, his whereabouts etc.

Anyway, hope the guy is caught and punished.

My condolences to the family of Anjana.

Mr. Henry Misquith, Bahrain, you are advocating for a legislation to allow working women to carry fire arms "Without a License". It is dangerous thing to possess fire arms even with a license. Have you ever thought of the consequences a woman or women will face if the Fire Arms they possess misfire....?....? That time no one will be able to save the woman or women concerned when it misfires and the mental agony the woman or women will face from the Police? It is easy to say but let us not fall prey to Gun Possessing Culture. You can very well see how the gun culture of shooting in the Western countries even by the students there.

    Dear Verom
Thank you as always for spewing venom. If you open a Moral class , I'll be the first one to attend to see what more can you teach me.However, think you'd be a 'great master' if you could avoid any 'slang' or sarcasm. If humanity and morality if they are to be judged only by the basis of 'comments' then it will be akin to
judging a book by it's cover. It's your take . However one who cannot take a joke upon himself should not have a crack at others . If this is one thing making unfounded allegations on basis of comments is another. In any case nothing is
more horrendous than paying lip sympathy and dealing in cases in isolation to settle scores.
Waiting for your exclusive 'Moral Classes'to open soon so as to enroll. Let's have a glimpse of your talent.
