Udupi : Spectacular Navaratri celebration at Laxmi Venkatesha Temple

Udupi, Oct 26: The spectacular Navaratri celebration at Shree Laxmi Venkatesha temple in Thenkupete, here, ended on Thursday October 25.

The celebration began with installation of Shree Sharada Devi idol in the temple premises on Saturday October 20.













Special puja’s were offered; Bhajans and cultural programmes were organized.

On Thursday, the idol was taken in a grand procession which passed through main streets in the city.

The procession was accompanied by ten varieties of tableaux, Nasik bands, Huli Vesha and others which was witnessed by thousands of devotees.

The tableaux consisted of themes such as Bakasura, Boo Kailasa and many others.

The Navaratri celebration ended on a high note with immersion of the idol in Padma pond of Shree Laxmi Venkatesha temple.

P V Shenoy, managing head of the temple, Devdas Shanbagh, T Subramanya Pai, Ganesh Kini, Rohithashwa Padiyar, Ajith Kudva, municipality members like Shamprasad Kudva, Geetha Ravi Shet, Yashpal Suvarna, Mattar Sathish Kini, Bhaskar Shenoy among others were part of the procession.
