Mangalore: Congress Leaders Shower Rich Tributes on Bondala Shetty

Mangalore, Aug 5: "Bondala Jagannath Shetty was a fearless leader who faced every challenge, whether in life or politics, with grit and courage, and countered them perfectly," said president of the state Youth Congress Krishna Byre Gowda.

He was speaking at a condolence meet organized by the district Congress committee at Town Hall here on Sunday August 5 to pay tribute to district Youth Congress leader Bondala Jagannath Shetty who passed away in an accident recently.

He further Bondala was a man who never lost hope on anything, who stood by every step he took for the Youth Congress and never shied away.

"Under his leadership he had taken the responsibility of preparing a young team for the party. He never said no to work. He was against those tried to bring religion into politics, and was against unconstitutional forces," he added.

"Even after losing the last elections from Puttur constituency, he carried out a series of welfare programmes. Bondala was like 'Abhimanyu' who dared to enter the 'Chakravyuh' and fought his battles alone," he said.

"Though Bondala is not amidst us physically, his memories will forever remain. The life of struggle that he led is a beacon light for the youth of the coastal region to follow," Byre Gowda said.

Congress leader Janardhan Poojary said that Bondala was known for his selfless service towards the society, among which was building a school. "He was an able leaders of the Youth Congress," he said. He also appreciated the decision taken by the Youth Congress to organized an annual programme in Bondala's honour.

MLA Ramanath Rai said that Bondala was a sensitive man and a politician who was always one the move. "He was active and intelligent. He was in favour of social harmony, a man with secular thinking who urged everyone else also follow the same," he said, adding that Bondala had gained the trust of his party activists.

KPCC secretary assured that a memorial will soon be built in Bondala's honour

All the leaders and party workers paid floral tributes to the portrait of Bondala Jagannath Shetty.

Mayor Gulzar Banu, corporator Nagendra Kumar, Moidin Bava, Shashidhar Hegde, Mamatha Gatti, Deepak Poojary, Sudhir T K, Suresh Ballal and others were present.

    It's another photo-op. Look at Amarnath Shetty and most of them in that third photo. They are posing towards the photographers. Their presence is precisely to exploit this limelight due to an accident involving Toyota Fortuner and another vehicle that could kill a person behind the wheels of Fortuner.

    An good social worker turned politician Bondala Jagannath Shetty left us.It is a big loss for Congress party that also when Bondala emerging as a leader in Congress party.As per various sources, he is the first who responds when persons are in S.O.S.Good people has always short life that is what we are feeling.May his soul rest in peace and following of his legacy in DK Congress is a true tribute respect to departed soul.
