Ajman: GMC Hospital Hosts Grand Doctors Meet-2012

Ajman, Jun 11: GMC Hospital recently hosted a grand Doctors Meet 2012 in the Gulf Medical University (GMU) campus wherein leading medical experts were invited to participate in the seminar on neurology, urology and plastic surgery. 

On this occasion chief guest Sheikh Dr Majid Bin Saeed Al Nuaimi, chairman of the Ruler’s Court, Ajman honored eleven leading obstetricians/gynecologists from Dubai and Northern Emirates in recognition of their exemplary service and support to GMC Hospital.

Thumbay Moideen was the guest of honour at the Doctors Meet 2012 which was held as part of the CME program on neurology, urology and plastic surgery at the GMU campus. 

Akbar Moideen Thumbay, director operations, healthcare and retail division presided over the special event.  “Our endeavor is to recognize the contributions made by doctors in their specialty, highlight their achievements and thank them for their support and encouragement extended to GMC Hospital.  This is a token of our appreciation and we wish to conduct this ceremony every year”, said Akbar Moideen Thumbay.

The following were the recipients of the special award from Sheikh Dr Majid Bin- Saeed Al Nuaimi :  Dr Marie Ealias – obstetrician and gynecologist, Marijeh Medical Centre, Sharjah,  Dr Sajida Sultan – obstetrician and gynecologist, Medicare Medical Centre, Ajman,  Dr Shibu Saifudheen - obstetrician and gynecologist, Masfoot Medical Centre, Ajman,  Dr Bindu Gopal Krishnan - obstetrician and gynecologist, Dr Sunny Medical Centre, Sharjah, Dr Fatima Iqbal - obstetrician and gynecologist, Al Muhaisnah Clinic, Dubai,  Dr Sapna Sharma - obstetrician and gynecologist, Mother & Childcare Centre, Sharjah, Dr Meenakshi – obstetrician and gynecologist, Advanced Medical Centre, Ajman,  Dr Uma Maheshwari - obstetrician and gynecologist, Venniyil Clinic, Sharjah, Dr Febin Ghafoor Nigar - obstetrician and gynecologist, Royal Medical Centre, Ajman, Dr Sonia Sachdeva, obstetrician and gynecologist, Sunny Medical Centre, Ajman,  Dr Motia - obstetrician and gynecologist, Fujairah Ministry Hospital, Fujairah.

Leading experts from GMC Hospital like Dr Mohammed Hamdy Ibrahim, specialist A, lecturer in neurology delivered a talk on the special concept in dementia, Dr Ihsanullah Khan, assistant professor and specialist A in urology spoke on the diagnosis and management of BPH (Benign Prostrate Hyperplasia) and Dr Khaled Mohamed El Sherbiny, associate professor and consultant in plastic surgery delivered a special talk on the management of burns.  All the above leading experts were honored with special mementos by Sheikh Dr Majid Bin Saeed Al Nuaimi and Thumbay Moideen.  Later, professor Gita Ashok Raj, provost of GMU gave away special prizes to various winners of the raffle draw held during the event.

GMC Hospital, Ajman, Body & Soul Health Club & Spa, Ajman, The Terrace Restaurant, Zo & Mo Opticals were the main sponsors, while Swiss Arabian Perfumes, Vitabiotics, Al Ain Diary and Americana Cakes were the co-sponsors of the grand event.

Around 450 doctors, medics and their families participated in the grand event which was accredited by the Ministry of Health for 6 CME hours.
