Thank You: Daijiworld Readers Raise Rs 7.23 Lac for Leena Pinto

Mangalore, Sep 27: The valued readers of Daijiworld have continued to show hearty support for needy causes, this time by extending timely help to 31-year-old Leena Pinto who had to undergo treatment for breast cancer (carcinoma breast, Herceptin) at Father Muller Hospital, Mangalore.

An appeal posted on Daijiworld last month received positive response in the form of contributions as well as prayers from well-wishers across the globe. As a result, a sum of Rs 7.23 lac poured in within a couple of weeks.

Leena Pinto's husband Maxim Michael, a parishioner of Christ The King Church, Venur, under Mangalore diocese, has acknowledged the contributions received so far and conveyed his heartfelt gratitude to all the donors. Though it was his wish to convey a thanksgiving note to each and everyone, due to lack of adequate contact details and the huge number of contributors, he has conveyed his acknowledgement through this column.

"The support extended by Daijiworld readers was much-needed and timely, it made a huge difference as Leena could go for immediate surgery," he said.

Under surgeon Dr Rohan Gatti, her treatment has begun and is well into chemotherapy which will continue for a year.

We at Daijiworld thank each and everyone for responding to one more appeal. Jude Noronha, a well-wisher of Daijiworld had earlier studied the case and initiated the appeal through Daijiworld. We would like to thank Jude for his co-ordination and support.

We would like to remind our readers that through your generous contributions, we could raise about Rs 4.3 crore over the past few years, which reached the beneficiaries directly without any middlemen or third party involvement.

May God bless us all. This is one platform that enables everyone of us to reach out to the needy, without bringing caste, creed or religion into picture.

Thank you once again, on behalf of the entire Daijiworld team.

Walter Nandalike
Editor-in-chief

I know several other cases for the last 2 or 3 years, the editor had taken the initiative to make a plea to help deserving persons irrespective of the cast and creed , particularly the ones involving life saving hospital treatments. I have contributed myself over a dozen such cases and the beneficiaries had acknowledged this in this esteemed paper. I earnestly request the Editor not to stop this good work and may God bless him a long life to serve the people

I pray to God that Leena regains her health and recover soon. A million thanks to Daiji for undertaking this noble. It gives immense pleasure when we help some one in need and their need is fulfilled. God is testing all of us, how kind and helpful we are. Today someone is in need tomorrow it may be our turn, sickness and calamities is not in our hands and can happen to anyone. But, by helping each other the sorrows can be diminished or atleast reduce. I request Daiji to keep rotating the other stories also in "Please Help" so that every needy gets some help. Thanking you Daiji once again.

World is not lacking good Samaritans, but it needs a platform to give them a chance to express their good will. Daijiworld.com is one of the best links that we find today which awakes and brings a awareness among the people about the needy who still wait our attention and love. I salute the Editor-in-chief and the whole team of Daijiworld.com for their herculean task of bringing this kind of awareness among the people to come forward to support the needy brethren.
I thank on behalf of Maxim and Leena, Venur, the whole team of Daijiworld.com for their support Mr. Jude Noronha & Mr. Elias Fernandes for their special concern to support Leena’s cause and all those who lovingly & generously contributed to this cause through their prayers, monitory help etc. Since the treatment is very costly (Rs. 18 lakhs) she needs still more support and our prayers. Pray that God may bless her. Thank you. May God bless you all.
