Mangalore Rave Party : 24 Bajrang Dal Men Booked for Rioting, Robbery

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangalore (SP)

Mangalore, Aug 16: It is gathered that the police have registered cases against Sharan Pumpwell, convener of Bajrang Dal, and 23 people allegedly having affiliation this outfit, in connection with the attack by ‘moral police’ on a birthday party. The party was in progress at a farm house in Ullal near here on Sunday August 14, when the activists of Bajrang Dal launched an attack, it is said.

Police said the vigilantes were booked under non-bailable sections relating to rioting and robbery

However, Pumpwell said he had no knowledge of the alleged attack. So far, no arrests have been made. It is said that during the raid, people were beaten up, and valuables including cash, were robbed. About 30 youngsters were enjoying the party when they were attacked all of a sudden, it is gathered. Those in the party were from rich families having political clout.

It is said that beer cans and ganja were available at the party.

Some of the youth in the party were admitted to hospitals, with injuries including bruises. These youth are angry that they were targeted by ruffians who beat them up and robbed their belongings, for no fault of theirs. They turned livid at the fact that the religious police took law to their hands. They also took strong umbrage at the fact that valuables like gold chains, laptops, and wallets containing cash and other items were snatched from the partying youngsters.

Allegedly, a car parked at the spot was also targeted by the infiltrators. The youth at the party ran helter-skelter at the sudden turn of events, and hid themselves to save themselves from the fury of the attackers, it is said.

People, for your kind information. The so called baba's use Ganja for their meditation. and you all worship them as your preist. And secondly it is not from the western culture. People have been using ganja from ages.. If you all have no idea of the necessities of it dont comment. Militians use it as pain killers. And Bajrang Dal CHADDI people are never the less. I know a lot of Bajrangi's who smoke a lot of ganja and even consume drugs. Let them first correct their own members. Pest around the city …

What BD thought was right and done is wrong. They might have informed the police( only some may be good) to raid the party. It clearly implies that these attacked the rave for name, fame and MONEY. Overall who are these bulls to attack someone's property and destroy their wealth.

let us get into the root of this incident.
Ganja was found in the party. How did ganja came to Mangalore? (if it was not grown, then it should have been brought from some other region either through, road, rail, sea or air routes). What is our police and administration doing?
BD does this moral policing only on establishments and people who do not give them hafta!
If we are so moral-liking people then put a ban on liquor in Mangalore like in Gujarat! Can u imagine this?
I bet most of the BD guys who attacked the farm house are regulars at bar and restaurants everyday in the evening!

All are concentrating on ganja. Now a days pills are major part of consuming drugs. Picture shows it all. So many tablet covers. Students are heavily relying on these tablets(tonic bottles are missing :( ). Easily available in Medical shops. And some medical shops owners entertain these activities to boost their business though they know the current customer is not legitimate customer.

It will be good for DW to come up with a article on different types of drugs inorder to educate common man and parents especially and how students/xyz consumes them.

    This is pathetic.
People will always find ways to enjoy if they really want to. If BD had informed police i would be proud of them but now i pity them. They just sound like a mob. Moreover, robbery??Still more pathetic. By doing this they will only bring down the image of mangalore as a safe city than restoring the culture.
They would be real heroes if they could iradicate rape and other such criminal activities in the city rather than these cheap gimmicks.

Great thing to know about the raid. Some of our readers who are saying that the photographed leaves may be dry leaves should take notice that Daijiworld itself says that it is GANJA. I agree that the outfits should have informed the police rather taking action themselves. But lately what they have done is right. Keep up the good work.

shame on the commissioner of Mangalore. If the BD had information, then it should have called the police commissioner and should have taken video and picture to prove that what they did is right. How can BD attack people and then loot them and then the BD leader deny all charges. If the mobiles, laptops are stolen then it can be tracked if they ever use it or sell it.

Those people who hailed the BD for
their great role in attacking the
Rave Party must give further justificaion about the great
    moral sene. BD everywhere in
India is engaged in attacking the
minorities, and now they got into
wider role of attacking young people, also robbing and destroying somebody's property.

Had they gone there behind the
police for any extra help, that
might have been a different story.
Now the BD's real color is going to be exposed more clearly.

How safe are our house parties/functions from these groups?? Simply instilling fear backed up by political clout in the name of moral policing..Mangalore we aint moving forward as long as these groups exists..Get a life members of BD you guys can do something useful to society than creating fear among youth!!In future if Mangalore develops and corporates enter our market and have parties in farm houses and it is attacked will it look good for Mangalore ???

Yes this is making news lately in India. Drugs have been made easily available since my college times. No one did anything about it. Even if they did the Police did not support. Can't help it. Bajrang Dal please act more responsibly. Tomorrow they might be your children where someone else will spy on and beat up. Then what will you do. Riot again?? Violence and looting is not at all an option. Its going to be like the london riots we have witnessed lately. I believe education about drug abuse is one of the most democratic way of dealing with this menace. And protest against Police cause they have not done and will never do anything towards society. Ban bajrang dal simply because they cannot run a parallel government and they have no right to hit anyone. they are like mice steal and go into hiding. If Bajrang Dal can vouch that each one of their members follow strict principles like no beef, no liquor, no western clothes etc.. then its understandable but they themselves don't follow their own principles then why should others. Again police inaction gives them more powers and then small time goons create trouble everywhere and say they are from bajrang dal/ ram sene. My final take on this entire saga is yes these children i guess are underaged for even drinking let alone druggs so they should be punished but bajrang dal enough is enough dont push the limit you will find it hard when it hits back at you. your children will surely put you to shame. forgive teach and move on......

We all believe in our great judiciary sytem. We would have appreciated this move by BD if they reported it to Police !!! Instead they taken law in their hand .. What if these Bajrangi's only carried all those things inside ?? If they are smart enough they would have informed the police and made sure Police will take action legally !!!.. This is quite unfortunate BD started ruling in Mangalore !!! On may 23rd 2011, Gujarath high court slapped such an incident with fine of 5000 each for taking law in hands for stopping a overloaded vehicle !!! (Source : http://www.indianexpress.com/news/detaining-overloaded-vehicles-hc-slams-grou/794495/) I think the same should repeat here...

Some of us are defending the BD for the reason best known to them.If this culture goes further in large scale what would be the result?Jungle raj like U.P BihaR?BD has no business in farm house or resort to indulge in fist fight or riot or robbery whatever...We are living in established civilized society in which everything is defined. These BD rogues should be booked under Goonda ACT so that next time they will think twice before invading any private party/property.Who knows who kept Ganja in the party?Law point of view Party makers may charge BD of planting Ganja in premises of the Resort instead?Any Organization which resorts to violence and criminal activities should be condemned, banned and not encouraged. There is a system in the society if tomorrow anther group makes such inroads what would be the law and order status of our state/country?

For robbers and vandalisers silly reasons are good enough. So far moral goons were protected by state regime indirectly supported by local communal law makers for votes. Looks like DVS is a fair kind of leader. He may not support such nonsense. This is the way peace will prevail in Mangalore. Robbers and vandalisers need not establish (un)culture in the name of whatever...!! Good job police! Now police need to take fake police to task! Who knows...ganja could be planted by these goons! If real police had done the job, they could have collected vitness and FIR. Goons can not have their own judiciary and collection of evidence!! Looks like robbery was the motive!
