New Delhi: National Award Announced - Best Actor for Dhanush, Actress Saranya

New Delhi, May 19 (IANS) The 58th National Awards were announced Thursday May 19. The National Award for best actor will be shared by Tamil cinema's Dhanush and Malayalam actor Salim Kumar for their work in "Aadukalam" and "Adaminde Makan Abu", respectively, While Tamil cinema's Saranya and Marathi actress Mitalee Jagtap Paradhar won the National Award for best actress for their performances in the movies "Thenmerku Paruvakkaatru" and "Baboo Band Baaja", respectively.


P R Ramadass Naidu, Director, Hejjegalu

Kannada movie "Hejjegalu" was named the best children's film, while National Award for best feature film has gone to the Malayalam movie "Adaminte Makan Abu" with Rishi Kapoor-Neetu Singh starrer middle-class family drama "Do Dooni Chaar" winning the national award for best Hindi feature film. 

While Arbaaz Khan's debut production venture "Dabangg" starring Salman Khan got the National Award for wholesome entertainment, Tamil moviemaker Veerimaran was named best director.

Vishal Bhardwaj's "Ishqiya" won four National Awards including best music for the director and best female playback singer for his wife Rekha Bhardwaj.
