Puttur: Parent Teacher Association meet held at St Philomena PU College

Mangaluru, Aug 16: Parent Teacher Association of the academic year 2022- 23 was held on August 13 at the Silver Jubilee Memorial Hall.

The programme was inaugurated by the dignitaries by lightning the lamp. The president Fr Lawrence Mascarenhas correspondent said that everyone should have faith in God and parents should guide their children in the right path.He motivated parents to upbringing their children in a well disciplined manner.

The resource person, Vincent Fernandes, retired headmaster encouraged parents to praise their children. The only investment that the parents do to their children is to educate them. He said that both parents and teachers play a major role in upbringing their children.

He further said that if parents play the role of teachers and if teachers play the role of parents every child can lead a happy life in this competitive world. He advised parents to teach their children the quality of self discipline.

The campus director, Fr Stany Pinto said that the parents should motivate their children and teach them the difference between right and wrong.

The principal, Fr Ashok Rayan Crasta said that parents play a dominant role in the life of their children. He said "Education is not only gaining knowledge, but it is something that changes personality". He added that behaviour is very important and briefly explained about the rules and regulations to be followed by the students.

The guest, Maurice Mascarenhas, vice president, Puttur Parish said , "St Philomena is an institution which always helps in the overall development of the children. He also requested the parents to take keen interest towards their children.

Mamachchan, physical director, government PU College, Savanoor the newly elected president of PTA expressed his happiness.

Rank holders and distinction holders from Science, Commerce and Arts streams were felicitated on the occasion for their tremendous performance in the PU board examination.

Yashaswini M D (Dept of Biology), secreatary of PTA conducted the election for the various posts of new office bearers.

Sanjay S (Dept of Commerce), treasurer of PTA presented the report of the academic year.

Yashawanth MD, Dept of Biology secretary of PTA welcomed the gathering. Bharath Kumar, department of Political Science proposed vote of thanks. Usha Yashawanth, department of Kannada compered the programme.
