Puttur: 75th Independence Day celebrated at St Philomena PU College

Puttur, Aug 16: The 75th Independence Day was celebrated at St Philomena PU College with gaiety and patriotic fervour.

The principal, Dr Antony Prakash Montheiro, St Philomena College hoisted the national flag and said, "Let us all build our nation by our hardwork, by our sincerity and by our dedication."

The NCC cadets, Rovers-Rangers, NSS volunteers, Red Cross unit and the band troop participated in the march-past. Primary, high school, PUC, degree and PG students participated in the rally till khile maidana.

Students of Fine Arts and Performing Arts Associations presented cultural programme.

NCC Officer, Lt Johnson David Sequeira, SUO Kiran, NSS officers, convenors of Rovers-Rangers unit, Sharath Alva, Dhanya P T, Sandesh John Lobo and Poornima. Convenors of Fine Arts Association, Ashwini K and Performing Arts Association coordinated the programme.

Fr Ashok Rayan Crasta, principal, St Philomena PU College, Fr Stany Pinto, campus director, and Udaya K, vice principal, St Philomena College were present.
