Puttur: Feast of patroness of St Philomena Institutions celebrated

Puttur, Aug 16: A thanks giving Holy Eucharistic celebration was held in the Silver Jubilee Memorial Hall to mark the occasion of The feast of St Philomena, patroness of St Philomena Institutions.

The correspondent, Fr Lawrence Mascarenhas was the main celebrant. Along with the priests serving on the campus, several priests from the parishes in and around Puttur also joined as Co- celebrants of the Holy Mass. 

The principal, Dr Antony Prakash Montheiro, St Philomena college in his sermon said,"Our patroness, St Philomena is known for her purity and faith. We, the staff and students of St Philomena Institutions must inculcate her values and follow in the footsteps of St Philomena. When things go wrong and we feel offended, we should forgive our brothren seventy times of seven."

Fr Stany Pinto, the campus director wished everyone. Fr Ashok Rayan Crasta, principal, St Philomena PU College conveyed his best wishes.

The staff and students of St Philomena PU College and St Philomena College presented cultural programmes on the occasion.

The Divya Chethana Association of St Philomena PU College and St Philomena College coordinated the programme.
