Mangaluru: Carmel School in Kotekar celebrates 75th Independence Day

Mangaluru, Aug 16: Carmel School, Kotekar celebrated the 75th Independence Day of our country with spirit of patriotism.

The chief guest Joseph Pereira, an ex-military officer hoisted the national flag. The students participated in march past in different squads.

Tonse Pushkala Kumar (retired manager of Bhagavathi Cooperative Bank) gave an inspiring speech on and recalled the freedom fighters and their sacrifice.

Students enacted a tablaue on the ‘sacrificial life of a solider’. The parents of the students, who had served and serving at present in the military field, Joseph Pereira, Sathish S, Panduranga Prasad Bekal, Rajesh and in the absence of Giridhar Kumar and Nagaraj Gatty, their wives were felicitated.

Winners of various competitions like patriotic song, drawing the national flag and freedom fighters, march past were awarded with prizes. Evita and Harinandan anchored the programme. PTA executive members were present on the occasion.

The students and the teachers decorated the school with tricolour.
