Mangaluru Aug 14: On the eve of 75 years of Independence, a Tiranga Utsav was held at St Francis Xavier Church, Bejai on Sunday August 14.
Scores of children took part in the Tiranga Utsav. Prior to the event, a mass was held at the church for the children.
On the eve of 75 years of Independence, competitions like drawing on theme, favorite freedom fighter, and a write up for class 1 to 6 category and creating an image of Bharath Matha was held. Prizes were distributed to the winners on this occasion.
Soon after the mass, children gathered in large numbers with the national flag and signed off with the national anthem.
Parish priest of Bejai Church Fr J B Saldanha and assistant parish priest Fr Sooraj Lobo was also present.
