Mangaluru, Aug 12: St Agnes PU college had the distinction of organising the district level karate tournament on Thursday 11 in the auditorium. Ravi Naik, assistant director, district Youth Empowerment and Sports Department officer was the esteemed chief guest.

The other dignitaries who graced the occasion were Premanatha Shetty, DK sports convenor, Siji Permayan, DK sports observer, Shriyan Sharath Kumar chief karate trainer of Gojorio Association.

Jayashree, physical director, St Agnes PU College welcomed the gathering, Soujanya, sports secretary proposed the vote of thanks and Dr Tressie Menezes, librarian compered the event.

The principal, Sr Norine DSouza, vice principal Sr Janet Sequeira and the faculty along with Asha, PTA vice president were present on the occasion.

In the girls category St Agnes PU College bagged the overall championship and the runners Up trophy was garnered by St Aloysius PU College.

In the boys category, St Aloysius PU College won the overall championship while Shakthi PU College were the runners up.
