Mangaluru, Aug 11: Bondala Jagannatha Shetty Memorial Government high school is a model government educational institution. Such a concept was pioneered by the late Bondala Jagannatha Shetty, the youth leader then. It was his initiation to start this school in 2003. He adopted this school for development. He was the first to embody a new stone of adoption scheme in the state in this part. He laid a strong foundation to this school by providing all the required infrastructure in those days with the support of the government and local education fans. This move inspired the adoption of many schools in different parts of the state.
After the sad demise of him in 2012, his elder brother Sachidananda Shetty took over the responsibility of this school and continued his work of developing this school through a trust by name ‘Bondala Charitable Trust’. He has been leading the school and today this school has turned into a model school. He has provided ample support and encouragement for all round development as well as academic and extra- curricular activities. Every year more and more students are attracted to this school. The local organizations are giving a helping hand to the school under the concept 'WE ARE FOR THE SCHOOL'.
Boasting of many firsts, It is the first adopt a government school in the history of education then it has the distinction of being the first government school to install a CC Camera in the entire school. High tech touch is given to Akshara Dasoha food preparation by installing steam. In addition to that this is the first time that a government school has become self sufficient by generating complete solar power and supplying it to the grid. Bio matric for staff attendance is installed. Currently 243 students are studying in this school. A beautiful hall by name Annapoorna is provided for having mid day meals for students. Education is imparted through multimedia. Intercom system is installed in classrooms. Well equipped function hall is there with a good sound system. The school possesses a good library and science lab for the use of the students. The students are found representing in both intra and inter school competitions conducted by various organizations bagging prizes.
As many as 10 Years for Acceptance Educational Institution, Boasting many firsts, Bondala Sachidananda Shetty president, Bondala Charitable Trust, said, "Organizing with the help of staff, parents and students of Bondala Jagannatha Shetty Memorial Government High school is well on its way to development. All the facilities required by the institution have been provided in the last 10 years of adoption. Further, the students need a well equipped stadium/ playground and the government has already reserved the land for it. If this is the case, it will be helpful to our students to shine both in state and national level sports activities. If more freedom and powers are given to the S D M C , there is no doubt the government schools will provide quality education and thereby help the government to fulfill its educational goals."
