Mangaluru: Father Muller Medical College to celebrate National Library Day

Mangaluru, Aug 10: Father Muller Medical College, Central Library Committee will be celebrating ‘National Library Day’ on August 12. To commemorate birth anniversary of father of Library Science Padmashri late Dr S R Ranganathan every year, August 12 is celebrated as National Library Day in India. To mark the celebration, an inter-medical collegiate Undergraduate General Knowledge Quiz ‘MULLER LIBER – 2022’, will be held where eight medical colleges of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi district will be participating in the event.

Prizes to the Quiz winners, best library user award, prize for RGUHS toppers, BMJ research to publication recognition award and lucky draw winner award will be given on that day.

Dr Hima Urmila Shetty, chairperson, Dr M V Shetty Memorial Trust will be the chief guest and will deliver guest lecture. Fr Richard A Coelho, director, FMCI will preside over the function. Fr Ajith B Menezes, administrator, FMMC, Dr Antony Sylvan D’Souza, dean, FMMC, MC members of FMCI, Dr Venkatesh B M, chairperson, Central Library Committee, librarian Dr Janet Dotty Lobo, faculty, students, invitees will be attending the programme.
