Kundapur: Congress party holds padayatra to mark 75th anniversary of Indian independence

Kundapur, Aug 8: Kundapur block Congress held a procession by foot as part of 75th anniversary of India’s independence to recollect the sacrifices of martyrs and spread the message of communal harmony.

The procession progressed from Saligrama till Thekkatte via Kota. Former minister Vinay Kumar Sorake said that Congress party has made a huge contribution for attaining independence and provided constitutional governance for 60 years.

 

"Nehru, Indira and Rajiv Gandhi and such other leaders have worked hard for the country. People are tired of the rule of the current government. BJP has become the party of killers and made ordinary people to live in fear. It is trying to appease one community. The processions held by the Congress party across the country have become successful," he said.

Udupi block Congress president Ashok Kumar Kodavoor, Congress party state chief secretary M A Gafoor, Kota block Congress president Shanker A Kunder, Kundapur block Congress former president Malyadi Shivarama Shetty, district Congress chief secretary Kishan Hegde Kolkebail, Devaki Sannayya, Mamatha Devadiga, Herianna Chatrabettu, Rony Udupi, Roshni Olivera, Ichitartha Shetty, Ustad Ahmed, Sathish Shetty, Devanand Shetty, Vikas Hegde, Ajith Shetty, Raju Poojary Parampalli, Srinivas Ameen, Balakrishna Poojary, Mallika Poojary, Dinesh Bangera, Ganesh Nellibettu and others were present.

Kundapur block Congress president Hariprasad Kanmakki welcomed. Vinod Crasta compered the programme.
